Ant those springs have got to go back on, sooner the better, its like driving with flat tyers but we had to try it and at least i know what i am not missing.
Its a shame as i really like the stance atm and love slammed e30s but the ride is so bad it doesnt warrant putting up with.
Dan, we were only cruising when we passed ya

it climbs like a good 2.7 does over 100mph where you really really notice it and a 2.5 has had enough
defo a revving HP lump i think. Goes very well indeed. Just need to sort the suspension and breaks now!

Yes, Ed it is a cat cams and around 270-280 but the exact spec i am unsure of, it was ordered to spec.
When we were discussing the build i was happy for Ant to order what ever spec cam he though was best for my needs, fast road and track use.
I know it may seem a little odd not knowing the exact spec of the cam but think he got it spot on to what i wanted so i am happy, even if i don't know what it is

how are you enjoying i now?
notice any difference in smoothness over a 1000 miles? i was sure i did..
as for the ice these last 2 mornings... perhaps not the best time for a 2.7... mine tried to kill me this morning

2.7's aside, my 316i was lairy on the way home. Seriously, low speed 3rd gear (i.e. No torque) the back end was stepping out.
Hilarious.
But be careful!

ODE is a monster then.
Time to put it to the test me thinks.
ODE vs 3.8 M5
.....not thats not fair, not even the Turbo 325i Ant had could live with it.
Alpina C2 with MBE vs ligtweight ODE?

Challenge accepted.
None of this Santapod business for me sir.
Bruntingthorpe!
Some rolling starts will be good.
I now have the BTB2 on the Alpina so it's a little quicker than before.
I have the advantage of car mapped with no AFM but you have less weight. I reckon ODE might just take the ultimate 2.7 title!
You know what, we should do an E30 Bruntingthorpe day if it's financially feasible.

Lets seriously not get carried away here.
The gug was and is the quickest 2.7 i've been in, i've been in all 3 all cars mentioned. I know theres a bexleys "230bhp monster" but i have never seen it or been in it
Sorry to piss on fires here but well you know

Guggy didn't have no where near as much low end torque as Alpina! Karan witnessed this himself.Simon13 wrote:Lets seriously not get carried away here.

But Guggy was certainly fast.
It did have the advantage of very low gearing remember....but it was still a flipping monster.
230 Bexley monster felt fast, put down good 1/4 mile time in wet on BK's.
That's it, Alpina gets 15" bbs's with 205/50 for this race!

Simon & Sal, i couldn't care less whether, it my car is fastest, slowest or most rusty 2.7 ever.
I am happy with it that's all that matters.
Sal, i love track days but i think a race could be a bit dodge not to mention against the rules, but saying that if we by chance end up on the track at the same time i would give it a go.
Santa pod would be as much fun and safer, its just a bit of fun init lol

GuG, Alpina, Yours are all serious 2.7's, all built properly with all the bolt on mods available.
I doubt very much there would be much between any of these cars.
Infact, I personally think yours would have the edge due to the weight loss. Duncan's lightweight 2.5 just showed how much difference weight really makes.
Imagine my m5 stripped out!

I was thinking just that.
There is a 3.6 parked outside. Interior out, carpet out, ac off. Can lose 200 kg on these according to a few guys who take them round the ring.
Lots of money to be recovered on M5 interior bits for some nice light seats and lots of stickers + roll cage.
Then we can have some fun......300+ brake and 1400 kg is not bad.
