The indigo match looks really good, I think I will have the stitched edges rather than leatherette, I prefer it, but that's just personnal preference.

Not being funny but it was already answered. Nobody can be bothered to wade through the spam ro read the posts and just want to go straight to their needs and then we repeat info over and over - which is why I have a very short fuse with spam in this kind of thread.
The supplier has clamps. Various types. They mainly use the newer 'handle' type into the petal shaped recess. I will confirm they have the exact E30 smaller oval type but I think they showed me those.

May not be possible on Indigo. They have the special yarn to do Anthracite and I think Black in woven but not Indigo. I will have to see what it would cost to get custom yarn - it can't cost that much.
The trick here is to try and use off the shelf stuff - soon as we ask for special order stuff it gets tricky. I will have a meeting with them in person to discuss all the variables. Up until now its been email only.
The leatherette is pretty nice as its is an exact match for the leather and vinyl used in the interior - even down to the grain. And to be honest once its down there in the dark audio acoustic nirvana that is the E30 footwell, it just melts away.

I have been following the thread.
You said that the mats would have the original fasteners.
Is this true or not?
If they don't have the originals, will they come with matching parts to screw into the carpets?

As stated, they will come with everything to fasten to the carpet. Either something that works with the existing pins in everyones carpet or a newer type.

These are the only colours I'm looking into at the moment and this is to clarify the whole Anthracite / Black / Dark Grey confusion. They are the most popular. Plus Black of course but the E30 never came with Black carpets. Homos pipe up if its wrong.
I will look into Beige and the Cardinal / Crimson Reds but I think its only realistic if they happen to have some off the shelf.

Wasn't realistically thinking they'd be a goer anyway- as you mentioned earlier, a v.small minority!! If they have though, that's a bonus!

Its very possible they have some red - they may have ones thats a great match. Just need the time to go down there and spend a few hours.
The bugger problem is having sample carpet in the E30 colours. Might need everyone to send me a bit for a short period - maybe the rear strip at the base of the rear seats.

Well, I have Indigo. I have some Silver Grey trim to match to. Carpet would be better.
Anthracite I'm assuming your sample mats are that colour.
But the absolute best would be to have Anthracite, Grey, Cardinal + Crimson Red, Beige and any other E30 colour basically - in actual carpet form to take with.
I can then go there with those and we'll know what's what. If they have stuff of the shelf that matches then it can be made at no extra cost. If they don't it can't.

Depends what it's going into.
These won't be available until Jan so no you're not. I'll start a new thread for actual orders only when I know what's what.
