I think all cars, well.. nearly all cars go the same way right?!

VW Golf Mk1, chaved up and boy raced.. now there is really only the concours examples left...

Same can be said for..

Peugeot 205 GTi's
Escort RS Turbos Series 1
Mercedes 190's

I'm sure there are others, and I'm sure there will be more in the future..

Let people do what they want to there cars.. its down to the owners preferance.. and the prospective purchasers should they wish to sell there cars..

It would appear, that these molestered cars fade away to scrap because people dont I think realise how much modifications actually cost.. hence why the older members.. with the modified examples keep there cars pristine because they have money and are wise..

The wheels are horrible, paint is flaking off them and they are too big. They'll do for now, though

Standard and original? It's a bit like Trigger's broom - that was all standard and original - only had two new heads and four new handles...

I'll leave mine alone within reason, but I'll also try to chill out and enjoy the 'diversity'.

Well put!

There are still hundreds of thousands of E30s around the world. Lets just hope the minority of M3's survive and avoid serious molestation.

The Ratch is a mythical creature that haunts the dark alleys of the zone, insulting people with his pompous and oft misguided opinions

He's been banned in his various forms more times than I have had hot dinners.

He is, however, an educated Ratch and his spelling is normally spot on :D

Look for On_a_Roll and follow the big 14 page thread currently in the "E30 chat". You'll see the misguided fool arguing for the sake of it and winding up tons of zoners. Funny though. I suggest getting a bevvy and some popcorn and commence reading.

Why so mean?

Are we in a dark alley now? Am I insulting anyone?

The spelling and grammar thing, I know it's only an internet forum and we should type as we speak, easy and relaxed etc.
But if you don't use it you lose it - and we are still 'writing' so I think people should make the effort.

Before English descends a language used by text speaking slang-riddled and incoherent apes.

Try and post without directly, personally insulting will ya? I know it's really easy to just abuse but engage your brain and give it a try.

My posts, whilst inflammatory and legendary in their wit and execution, are almost always carefully aimed at the topic not at individuals. You don't know me so extend me the courtesy and just think for a second - your post would have lost nothing by losing the insults.

You fool.

Cities in the UK and USA have already fallen into that trap. Shame, really. I dont use my best english and grammer on internet forums, there's no point. I type how I speak so I dont have to think as much. I make an effort to spell properly though and try to make sure I'm as coherent as possible.

as long as its legible first glance over and doesn't require back tracking several times to make sense of it then its fine by my standards. i have low standards in life generally though.

No - 'the car is criminal' is my opinion and does not impact directly on your character in anyway - it could also be interpreted as a statement of fact.

Saying 'I hang out in the dark alleys of the zone insulting people with my pompous ways' is a direct attack on my character and is also lie. This is mean.

I don't care really, I have very thick skin - but I'm just making it very clear that the zoners who think they are identifying the alleged troublemakers (me) often behave in the very manner they abhor and often are regurgitating falsehoods and gossip they have heard or read elsewhere and have never even directly addressed me on this forum or otherwise. In other words, they are just playing the hunt the 'troll' game which is pathetic. The smarter zoners have a decent relationship with me and that's all good.

I do not and never have attacked individuals unless I am personally attacked. I only attack topics and ideas...

So if you have a spoiler and different wheels you are boy racer scum? weve got a big car scene around here and mine is 1 of 3 e30's in telford and they are all nicely modified and mines near standard. I wouldnt say the e30 is a boyracer car atall its a classly 80's classic boy racers like there 106's & saxos and of course the e36's. And for the record e-types are shite as standrad anyway the best ones are extensively modified from the ground up so your argument is irelevant go join a detailing site or something boring like that :)

I can't be ar53d to read the whole of this thread, but I have a question.....

As my 320i Touring has gained the following mods under my ownership;-
2.7 engine
3.64 diff
Recaro seats
MTech2 valance
MTech tailgate spoiler
7x15 et13 MiM1900 wheels (right size, wrong offset)
Scorpion back box
MTech1 steering wheel of the 370mm flavour
Glass sunroof panel
.... does the OP consider me to be an "idiot boy racer" or a "genuine E30 custodian" (quotes taken from his original post)? I know what I consider myself to be, I'd just like to know if he concurs.

BTW, my grammer ought to be OK as I got an A-level in English Language - but that was 34 years ago, so I could well be a bit rusty by now. .....And that should give-away my age. Perhaps, in my case, "boy-racer" should be substituted with "wrinkly-racer" - if the OP deems it necessary.

Oh my GOD! I've just read the whole of this post and its hilarious!!!!

Good work guys, very entertaining.

My estate has 17" inch wheels :( ... that are yellow! :o ... on a red car :? ... and a yellow sunstrip :-x ... with stickers!

Lots of people look at it and puke but i've built what i wanted, a drift car which is lairy as f**k and turns heads left right and centre. It is, however very well looked after, rot free, service every 5k and i would never want it to rot away because i love it too much

I think i might fall into the boy racer catergory, but a boy racer thats cares lol

I have the Agust issue here - such a good magazine as always.

Convertibles seem to be the most badly molested E30's with some real horrors. But there are some very nice regular 2 and 4 doors and some pretty gruesome Tourings.
E36's seem to be getting less chav by the day - one thread on E36 Coupe.com debated going back to orange indicators........

each model will go through its chav phase but will revert back to the bufties once the next generation chavs move on to the newer model.its a never ending cycle.

well that made for a good read :D

i'm starting to think i might be a chavvy boy racer as my sport has 17" alpina rep wheels angel eye's 8000k HID'S non standard stereo (with boot install) so does that make me a boy racer???? despite the fact i have spent more than i care to think about keeping the old girl in fine fettel????

on_a_roll so you are the (in)famos (spelling??) "royal ratch" who keep's getting talked about from time to time glad to meet you as most of your post's have made me laugh when i've seen them (yes i have a twisted sense of humour).

Lol!

I had clears on my car for a while and though it looks ok and is the absolute edge of what I'd do mod wise it never really sat right with me - used to lie awake at night, shout at people at work and stuff...

Gone back to Orange now.
