That's absolutely brilliant news about the find! If they only got that far it was either a drunk bet or a teen joyrider, but either way it must have been someone local, so I'd increase the security of the motor as a priority.

I can call off the Thanet posse now ;)

Speedtouch, dont know you and have never seen your car. But reading your news has put a genuine smile on my face.Treat the old girl to a wash and some brekkie ( petrol) and go and give her a right good caning.

Good news the car has been found. Strange (and worrying) how there's no damage though!

Sticky unstickied BTW.

I'm guessing they must either have picked it somehow or had a key that fitted; are E30 locks as bad as 80's Fords in that respect?'
Possibly. We got into munky's car in Cornwall when he lost his keys, using another Zoners.

Glad you got it back.

May I suggest one of those bars that lock across the steering wheel? My feeling in this case is that some young scrote got lucky with his/her selection of keys,so a visible deterent is called for...

Excellent news. I'm delighted for you. And such a surprise that the thieving scum didn't bend it or torch it.

A great conclusion to a sad story.

Brilliant to hear this!!! its so good that you found it. Bet your chuffed. Definately get a steering lock or something, or maybe a more sensitive modern alarm fitted if it ain't already got one.

Glad you got it back, i cant imagine what it would be like if someone nabbed mine.

In some ways, it's good that the cops didn't find it, because they advised me they charge a fee for the recovery agent and storage charges on top of that

Awesome news 8)

How about getting a second hand air con button (assuming you don't already have air con) and wiring it up as a fuel pump cutoff? No chance of anyone ever starting it if they don't know to push the button when they get in.

I'm based in Kent and South London, I also travel a lot for work and I'll keep me eyes peeled!!!

Really gets my goat when these thieving scumbags steal someone's pride and joy, it's happened to me twice and it never gets easier to accept

Fingers crossed for a safe return!!

All seems well and good, though I'll check it over more thoroughly this afternoon, and look into upping the security level somewhat.

Great news, keep us posted. You had an alarm and an immobiliser, how did they get in and away?. My car has similar security and I thought it was adequate, not so sure now :?

No major damage caused, apart from possibly a scratch on the passenger door (can't recall if it was there before). It is mysterious, but then alot of weird sh*t goes down in East Kent - you get used to it after a while... :?

I've now sorted myself with a steering bar lock, which should provide a better deterrent in future.

Oh that's great that you found it!

Just joy riders then I suppose.

Did they break the locks? How did they get around the alarm?

They look a bit cumbersome and heavy those disklok things but their reputation seems good. I hate car alarms too so perhaps this disklok thing is the way to go. Obviously it's better than having you car stolen but...Such a pain though isn't it?
