I had some scummers in a transit van break my passenger side glass so they could steal the bag with my sons nappies/wipes in last week. The police had them on 5 different cctv cameras, from when they entered the high st, went into the car park and parked next to my car, did the damage/stole the bag, (I was parked literally 3ft from a busy high st with hundreds of shoppers who didnt even cast a glance!) drove round the corner and looked through the bag, dumped it in some bushes and then drove around the one way system/some roundabouts and exited the town.
All this and they couldnt get the number plate!! :cheese:

So you will be lucky to have an outcome IMO mate.

Depends how good your council are really as thats who pays for the cctv, hence ours being prehistoric.

Unless you were on a private car park with private cctv.

But when it goes to court the cctv can pretty much be disgarded if any of them are wearing hats or hoodies. This is why the police take the easy option out and say they can't identify anyone/number plate.

The same thing happened to me, a cctv camera pointing right at my 325. Some coont smashed the window and nicked the road angel. Despite the cctv no one was identified. The best thing that could happen is that you ask for the tape and practise some personal retribution. But they won't give you the tape :x

I have 2 pairs of horns on my car, a pair at each side, they have always been connected to the alarm for 'added effect' but recently the boot lock had been playing up and was setting off the alarm, so I disconnected the horns temporarily to save on embarrassment and look what happens

They would have had a surprise if the horns were connected

Sorry to hear that Chris, it's mainly one of the reasons I don't take the car out to shopping centre's etc, even then some wanker managed to scuff and take off some paint off the front bumper and this was outside my house! I'm almost certain it was a neighbour but couldn't confirm this but had a word anyway, you just can't win! :(

My friend parked his car new audi a3 in a car park, some prat opened his car door gloriously and whacked my friends car.

We were quoted 1500 pounds to repair the car. We demanded cctv footage and coudnt get any because they had cctv footage of most of the isles apart from the isle my friend parked on.

From now on whenever we get the chance we park our cars right under one of their cameras, atleast then we stand the slightest bit of chance.

i lent my People Carrier to my ex-wife the week before christmas much to the dismay of my current partner, but her car was in the garage and my reasoning was that she needs a car to go to work which helps MY children still living with her...

i got a phone call from her mum at the hospital to tell me, she totally destroyed it in a collision with another vehicle,

worse to come was that even though im fully comprehensive, and she was also fully insured, as she was'nt a named driver on my insurance they wont give me a penny, and her insurance will only pay out to the car she hit, as its only classed as third party when you borrow a car.

i finished paying for this people carrier at the end of this november after 2 and a half years of £250 a month, so was absolutely gutted that ive lost the lot, my partner as just about started to talk to me...

guess wot colour it was..................................... yup GREEN

End of day its just a car, glad she was ok for our kids sake.

quick front side pic for ya, this was the result of hitting the central reservation (back end is where other car hit her after she span) rest of car pretty much the same.....
police said if she was in a smaller car she might not be here today, that puts things into perspective...

thats a heavy one o22ie. i take it thats a write off? add in the fact that your current partner will throw this back at you during every argument and things do indeed look bleak :(

yeah total write off, its in some scrap yard already... i even had to pay the bill to the recovery service £189... had no option as they were gonna charge me an extra £12 per day storage fee... i even had to pay all charges before they would release it to a scrap yard of my choice, so cut losses and let them do it all
