I think I'm only on my 4th fillup since getting the IS but here's what I found:

Bought car with 3/4 tank of fuel so no idea then

Second tank I did was 38MPG average, that was using it to get to work and back for a couple of days, then a long trip up to see friends in Walsall and back. Most of that was on the motorway cruising at 70odd, with a little sprited driving once I got up there.

3rd tank got 28MPG. That was another trip up to see friends but this time was at a higher cruising speed than above (which won't be mentioned here!). Doing a ring trip later this year so wanted to get a more realistic idea of the fuel costs.

4th tank is in now and been used mostly for town driving, and looking nothing like as good as the two previous fillups, but then it has been taken for a few good blasts and can't really tell without running it right down.

OT - my god are they good cars...

i went on a long run to scotland in 06 and got 40ish to the the gallon, i can be light footed (my brother nicknames me moreno, which one or two people on here will get!), you'd have to be lead footed to get under 30 on the run,

i reckon the 0-14mpg votes are just sour grapes of 2.5 m20 owners still bitched about being outperformed round the twistys, oh no not this old chestnut!!!, :gives: :gives: :gives: :gives: :gives:

i'll have both soon as getting my 320 converted to full 325i spec with eibachs, spax adjustables on front, konis on back and lowered 40mm so i'll be able to judge for myself,

i love the way people argue when we all are enthusiasts of the same bloody make and model of car

example
£1.5k good I.S
£3-4k good 325i sport

i know where my moneys goin fella, and its not got 6 pots!
