I paid 2300 for my 1st 325i se, 4 door, i was the 2nd owner, it had done 98,00 miles, sh, this car was the nuts compared to some of the ones ive been in or seen. The engine was completely bullet proof, and was solid.

£475 for my first one five years ago. A black 175000mile 86 325i 2dr manual with 14" bottle tops and 'high back' proper recaros. Didnt realise the rarity of the seats at the time. Swaped it for Mk5 escort cabriolet after much hooliganisim and getting caught doing 130 on the M23!
Current car, the sport below was a bargain for the condition and miliage (32000) when i bought it last year.

First 89 318I Coupe was free as a hand me down...
I swapped it for a red 88 318i coupe with leathers that needed some work, spent about £500 and sorted the body work- flushed the bodykit to look like it was one piece, dropped it on azev's, had a DTM twin back box, only for an undercover copper to hit into the back of the car, because he wasn't looking!!!

12 years ago I paid £6500 for an '87 Tech 1 Sport... that was my first E30.
If I still had it, it would only be worth the same (if it was in the same condition) or probably a bit less. It was an absolute minter.
I bet it's a rusty wreck of a turd now though...

We've paid the following for our cars.
1st = £400 for a Red 316i 2 door F reg (well Claire paid for it but it's Ian's now!)
2nd = £319 for the Lazurblau 318i Touring G reg (The Mummy Wagon!) last December with tax and MOT. Being sold as soon as the diesel is on the road though
3rd = £200 for the Black, 4 door, RHD, 324d G reg (Getting the paper work Friday!)
4th = £170 for the E28 525i auto. Prob wont have it for too long. Ian wants to go back to working on his 316i.
Still have all of the above cars but only the Touring is on the road. The others are either waiting for MOT's or work. And Ian is the only one with a license just yet!!!!

1st E30, red 320i Auto, D reg was mot'd and taxed £260 via ebay .. looked "mint" from the inside, under the rear seat and in the boot was more polo like!

2nd E30 Grey 325i F reg bought from a fellow zoner £300 ... i lowered it, fitted leather, de-chromed & done some body work and just a general tidy up then sold it to another fellow zoner (wish i'd kept it
.. look's stunning now though)

3rd E30 320i cabby bought for £500 a bargain! .. solid except one rear arch car came with many new part's fitted but in much, much need of cleaning and TLC, ive done quite a bit to this car soon be MOT'd and out N about

Back in 1991 - £4200 for a 1985 323i convertible, which i didn't think was too bad at the time for a 6 year old car.
Sold it 5 years later with 170K on the clock for £2500, needing a new hood / diff / paint...

1. e28 518ilux - £100 no tax or mot but passed 1st time
2. e30 318is - £700 recon'd engine(at 80k miles), 105kmiles, sport cloth interior, lsd, cd player full tax and test, no rust. to good to be true if i had checked up on it prior to buying it would have found out it was CAT C, turns out front end smash and after closer inspection panels weren't straight bonnet was slightly off centre etc.(now scrap)
3. e30 318is - £250 just the shell, doors, boot bonnet etc. very tidy car 1 minor dent on the door and bonnet. put all my previous IS's parts on it had a full respray in estoril blue, now looking for a kit and set of wheels. spent so far £1500 but still on the hunt for more
4. e30 320SE - £100 with tax and test, lots of history, very clean car but scraped it now and raped it of parts
5. e30 325i convertable - £250, no tax or test, keyed up body work, cut up roof, no interior and head gaskets gone. bit of a fixer upper. but have since got chequered cloth interior thanks to Raffles for free, and a few other bits im planning on picking up end of the month and i hope to have it done by the summer. should be a phoenix yellow metallic m3 replica. and if i can ever find a half decent 850 gearbox it mite be a v12 power house too
all of my cars have been exceptional fun to drive, alll had their own quirks and all p*ssed off the girlfriend but i love them for it. i have looked to buy a new car for reliability but cant see the point in paying twice the price your gonna get for it by the time it rolls off the showroom. nor found anything that carrys the same feel about it as driving the mighty and iconic E30.

it was without a front bumper and had some damage to the NS front bumper mount. But 98K on the clock.
bit of work and a new bumper and was near to MINT'O, before some F*****g sensle C**t in a F*****g V*ctra plowed into the rear of me while in stationary traffic (in the dry)

So did you fix it up and bring it back to the road in the end?
