well at a push you could run the car for a while, but it would heat the exhaust as well as the bolts so be carefull.
Have you tried wd40 and breaker bars? About a 3 foot scaffold pole comes in handy too!

Actually thats a good idea, nuts and bolts are dime a dozen, the exhaust your taking off is I assume knackered and of no use. So cut the f****** off.bodger wrote:grinder

Its swimming in WD50 but not getting far! I managed to snap one of the bolts off with a breaker bar but I can't even get my sockets onto the others! I'll probably have to drill or grind it off tomorrow I suppose. Why are exhausts always such a mission?!

Rear box rubber hanger fitting 3 hours

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

First job I do on any car I buy is to replace the exhaust bolts with stainless ones from work, never rust up again.
I've even replaced the exhuast fannymould studs on the 2.7 with stainless
Steel exhaust fasteners suck

stainless galls up easier than steel.
wherever possible, i use brass nuts on manifolds etc. they don't sieze so easily
