Engine numbers..

where do i find it.. basically long story short..

my car.. after cat.. my enigne pre cat.. mot time.. need a letter sent form my boss ( garage owner) to mister mot man.. to say my cars able to be tested for pre cat emmission checks.. the owner of the car i got the engine from isnt answering his fone i need this asap.. anyone tell me where i can find the engine code/number.. on the engine so i can jot it down and contact bmw.. thank you please

if you give BMW the VIN number if its genuine they should be able to go onto thier database and see what engine and spec it is..

ideal fi i still haed the car.. or even if i cud get holdda the bloke..? all i ahve is the engine in my car for mot.. and so far im not winning
