well after a few months of searching i've finally got another e30 and i can't believe what a good one i've got! its a 1991 j reg 325i sport in sterling silver with blue leather its only done 86000 miles with a full bmw and specialist service history every receipt and mot from new i bought it off an old guy from cornwall whos had it for years he just used it on sunny days its only done 600 miles in the last 12 months! i saw the advert in an old bmw magazine which was about 12 months old it sounded right so i thought i'd give it a call on the off chance and it was still for sale! he said he had some interest but no one came and he didn't want to sell it really but his missus kept moaning about it. the only bad points are a little bit of rust along the seal of the boot lid and a scorpion exhaust its just too loud! i got stuck in a traffic jam for two and a half hours but it was fine so im really chuffed! so its going in for a full inspection 2 and cambelt next week so i can get everything checked over for piece of mind and then its just going to have some serious cleaning as its just been stood for ages and its covered in waxoil all underneath and in the engine bay which is good but i want it looking standard and mint i'll get some photos up soon.

sounds like a good buy, and a very lucky one at that. Low mileage sports are a dime a dozen... looking forward to seeing pictures mate.

Hey Mike.

You're probably right that sterling is more rarer.
You need to see the paint-work on mine though mate. It gives off a deep reflective lusture. I've seen lighter coloured BMWs finished in silver which look dull and don't reflect the paint properly, but I think it all comes down to polishing and waxing and all that.

I quite like the other silver E30 BMW did. I've forgotten what it's called though :(

Nice sport by the way fella :D

well just got it back from the garage and they said it was a goodun! i've had the inspection 2 cambelt the z3 1.9 gear shift and clear front and side indicators all done and now the cost..... £688 quid plus the price of the indicators and the gear shift oh well at least its all done now they took 2 and a half hours to do the gearshift though but it definitely feels better for it i've just got to clean and sort out the paintwork and interior! pics will be up soon.
