I opted for the latter when i took mine off and decided it's something you shouldn't do too often - was a bit scared i was going to bend something

Just work your way round the valance feeling for bolts and undo them as you go, its pretty sim;ple to take off but as has been said, be gentle moving the wings.
Iirc there are two bmm bolts under the front of it, two along the top, and two on each side.

Just four self tappers hold the front panel on, once it's detached from the wings.
