Monsport (Malcolm) Lost his battle
Moderator: martauto
So very sad to hear of things like this, I never met Malcolm and to be honest I dont think I reconise the name.
He was obviously a very well liked character and is going to be greatly missed by all.
Why is it Cancer is getting more and more common these days? I have heard of more deaths through cancer lately then I ever have in as long as I can remember, I some times cringe when hearing of the word 'Cancer' being so loosely used, using it to refer to rust for example
Its such a shame, I hope his family were well prepared

Malcolm had been ill and undergoing Chemotherapy for a long while OBs.
Sad to say, it was not entirely unexpected, but it's still a nasty thing to happen.
Cancer is a f*ckin' nasty b'stard, and always seems to go for the good guys. There's enough evil sh*ts around, murderers, rapists, paedophiles etc, but these people seem to go on for ever...
It just ain't fair, but I'm afraid that's life...
My mother and mother-in-law have had Cancer, my friends sister died of it, and countless relatives have gone in the past from this horrible disease.

Yes Malcolm had known for some time but took his illness with diginity and never lost his sense of humour. I have spoken with Malcoms wife Sheila and she is very touched by the kind words from the Zone. Malcom was in Rowans Hospice in Purbrook and donations would be very welcome. Malcolm loved his garden and flowers and she has said she would love lots of flowers at the funeral. How about a big E30ZONE arrangement ? As for the meet Sheila would like to meet the peeps at some stage of the day to say a thankyou for the support and sympathy from the members.
Gazman - you gonna sort the meet pse ? Gordon donations/flowers can you arrange m8 ?
I may not be online too much in the near future so any ???? give me a buzz.

Got to keep the low life kiddy fiddlers, serial murderers etc etc alive
Iain,, that's not actually a charity as such, so I'll sort a collection here mate. No worries.
Got to go out now, but will sort it first thing in the morning.
Dave, again, I will start a thread in the morning. May i propose the 28th? Gives us max time for collections leaving the meet within next month.
Cheers all.

I only joined the other day so didn't get chance to meet Malcolm or share a word or thread
or seemed to be lucky enough to meet him as some of you have.
But this thread has really highlighted to me what a great community you have all created
and I am sure Malcolm was a big part and contributer to that.
It's a strange feeling when you have only been a member or even known someone for a short
while and you get that 'touched' feeling when people start remembering what we are here for.
To Live
To Love
To Remember.
My condolences to Malcolm's, family and friends.

@ Iain & Mark, you guys both have PM.
Let me know what you want me to do, I'll gladly sort whatever you'd like me to. If you guys want to sort things, no worries, just say so. PM if easier.
@ gaszman, Dave, it's you and me to sort the meet for next month mate. I'll do anything you need, we can discuss it tomorrow at the meet.
Cheers all. We'll make Malcolm proud to have been an E30Zone member.

Sad sad news to hear of one who left such an impression upon folk. I unfortunately never had the pleasure but clearly he will always have a place. My sincere thoughts and prayers to his family.

I didn't know the guy but seem to remember a post or two from him.
Its always sad when things like this happen, usually to people that really don't deserve it.
My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.

As above.. never knew or met him but remember his posts (especially one a while ago asking for the age of zoners)...moving to see the zoners recognise the loss of a friend and fellow enthusiast. reminds me of someone posting a thread when we had a bit of tragedy here in Bahrain about a year ago to see if i was involved...very moving... i hope his family can read this thread later on and feel some sort of comfort in how others viewed him... Rest in Peace Monsport.

The funeral is on Weds 4th July at St Judes church, Kent Road, Southsea PO5 3EL then Milton Cemetar. 1230.
Shelia (Malcolms widow) was overwhelmed with gratitude for the kind words of condolence. I printed out most of what had been put into threads and left it with her.
I explained about the floral arrangement which Gord has collected and Mark is arranging, it will be quite large in the MONSPORT layout, again she was very very grateful as she knew how much Malc enjoyed the Zone and the company especially in has last year.
She would love to meet any Zoner when the Monsport Meet takes place on the 15th July, Gazman is doing a great job there and fine details will be forthcoming.
She is a fine lady - so lets do the final bit for Malc and make sure we have a good meet for him.

Very sad to hear this.
It's been a long time since i posted here as i no longer own an e30, but i met Malcolm a couple of times when i was around the zone at meet's and at Bexley's and he was a genuinely nice, friendly bloke.
Condolences to his family, i'm sure he will be greatly missed by all.

The funeral went well yesterday and Shelia (Malcolms widow) has asked me to convey her heartfelt thanks for all the messages of support and condolence.
There was a room off the main church where Malcolms collection of photography was on display and Shelia left an area purely for E30Zone on which I stuck up a huge amount of the emails and threads from Zoners.
You have all done him proud !
I am trying to get a photo of the Zone flowers which came in the shape of a four foot by nearly two foot display with his Zone name of MONSPORT.
Extra thanks to Gordon for the collection and E30Mark for organising the flowers.
See some of you on the 15th July at the meet.
