Theres a guy in the US that has already done this using the 280mm VW discs and E28 calipers, but he had to machine a lot off the caliper to get them to fit under 15" wheels. IIRC he decided it wasnt safe enough due to the amount of material machined from the caliper.

The RX7 calipers and BBS wheels? Thats a shame :(

Sorry, Ive been away sunning myself in Tunisia :D and now Im back home, Im in bed with a fever :(

Anyway, I left all the bits (strut, hub, caliper, VW disc and 15" BBS) with the guy a couple weeks before I went away and Im going to see him this weekend (if Im well) to see whats progressed.

Will update Sunday or Monday.

That involves buying calipers, the idea of using the standard E30 caliper is that it keeps the cost down.
Ive read on a couple of the US forums about the RX7 4pot conversion and it does seem a good choice. But, although they say it will fit under 15" wheels, Ive not seen any fitted under the 15" BBS, they all seem to be running aftermarket 15"s. When the question about the BBS wheel pops up, nobody answers.

Someone mentioned using Vauxhall stuff. I have heard of this from a couple people, but Im not sure of the 'hub' dimensions compared to the E30. Im fairly sure that the only Vx discs that will be of any interest to those who want to keep the 15" BBS will be 288mm from the Vectra, but they are only 5 stud and I think thicker than 22mm.

If using the E30 calipers with the VW disc works, then the upgrade could be done when someone needs to renew their brakes - just buy the modded VW discs, pads for the E30 and the bracket to mount the caliper. Nice and simple and shouldnt cost the earth.
15" BBS were not an option in the US from what I see on e30tech. What we call 15" BBS, they call "Euroweaves". Try asking again :)

Cheapest way to order 280mm VW discs is for a Seat Ibiza Cupra Turbo - these are 280mm 4-stud (4x100). Identical to G60 discs but for some reason, cheaper...

Not good news on this one again :(

The conversion is possible using the E30 caliper and 280mm VW disc to fit inside the 15" BBS wheel. The guy made up an MDF template for the bracket and machined the hub to fit the VW disc, but didnt do any more work, which was just as well.....
The problem is the price he wants to make the brackets and machine either the discs or hubs - £200 for the brackets (pair) and £50 for the hubs/discs. And those prices are for a batch of 10 8O

Not really the budget conversion I was after, but I think its down to him being a gready git  The same kind of brackets used by the VW boys to space out their calipers can be bought for around £50 and they are made to order.

Ive tried to get him to drop the price but he wont budge, so either he isnt interested in doing the work or he just wants to make a killing.
Either way, Im sorry guys but I cant take this idea any further at the moment as I dont have anymore machining contacts to get it done.

James, I deal with 3g brakes for all of my stuff.

Do you want me to drop them a line to see if they are able to manufacturer the brackets & machine the disks?

The price for machining the discs seems about right
I was quoted the same to get mine done and that included a pr of rings to make up the difference between thw original hub and the disc centre bore.
£200 for the brackets,Is Definately rip off prices.
I got quoted £90 for a pr of laser cut and machined ones.
Decided to do it myself in the end.
