What a very very nice car Oh If I had the askin price
guess 10% deposit and the rest over 25yrs out the question

sorry, but 20k is ultra mint standard, original car territory.
not resprayed / rust removed tastelessly modified money.
if he really wants 20k back for it he'd be better off selling the mods seperatly and turning the car back to as near standard as possible.

Max, I'd be surprised if it sells with that description, Most people who are spending 20k on an M3 would want a bit more detail and with all due respect, It reads a little childlike.
Are you able to revise the listing?
Good luck with the sale, I hope your dad gets a decent amount for it.

How much are you looking to accept? If I were you Max, I'd remove "my dad" from the listing. It makes it look like your dad lacks the basic ability to type a description himself. What connotations will that give to his ability with the car?
I hope the sale goes well, it's a very nice example.

Also the bit about 'ain't go a clue' about the subs (buyers would want to know) but I can sympathise with you not wanting it to sell

I don't know what subs they are and i can't just go to the garage and take a look
Would you like the DTA with that airbox
Dave what other detail can i add to it
If it everything works out ok then the car won't be sold

I'd be inclined to add who the engine was built by, have you got any of the original parts?, A photo of the stack of documents and a brief run down of the service history.
You have to remember 20k is a lot of notes, The potential buyer is going to want to know every detail before they come to view it as its hell of an investment imo.
If you are selling something more mundane it is fine to miss some of the detail, at 20k i'd like to know how many times its been farted in and how often it has been filled with derv.
I'm really not trying to harm the sale or come across like a twat, Just trying to help.

When selling something, everything you list must have a positive slant on it. So if you 'ain't got a clue about subs' list item as having a quality sound install giving a clear full range in the cabin.. etc etc
The derv was a one off
There aren't many original parts
Will try and get my dad to take a picture that's 100% if it will be sold! there is faith that it won't yet
You are helping, i need a buyers point of view.

Can't you just persuade your dad to give it to you for your first car?

Offer him a stunning deal whereby he gives you the car and pays for the insurance, tax and petrol, and in return you do all the housekeeping/cooking/cleaning for the rest of eternity.

body:
dont say the rust has been removed, say its had a full re-paint and some minor rust issues delt with, new rubbers and trims etc
engine:
say its been built by bexleys
full re-trim by a - trim
its not a chav'ed up car, bar the lights and wheels the rest of the mods are decent ones
good luck

I know everyone is trying to help but didnt max say he didnt want to sell it??
my two pence worth - I'm sure its worth 20k, but will take time to sell at that price.

Will your Dad not regret selling coz I would
Beautiful Car m8 would be sad to see it go if it sells, If I had the cash I would consider but spending too much on mine as it is
Persuade your Dad to give it to you for your Birthday

Maxfield, IMHO I think the car will appeal to a wider number of buyers if you could swap the wheels, steering wheel, rear lights and mats to something closer to standard. The wheels in particular might scare some buyers off ( I recall these have been debated on this site before). Best of luck with the sale in any event. The car looks great in Nogaro.
It certainly has been discussed before!
If my dad had the funds he would probably change the wheels, but that would be a waste of money IMO!
If he keeps it then, one day, maybe next year it will have LM's on it!

Hey sorry to give some negative input, but Bexley Motor Works did some tuning work on my car which was complete crap and had to be ripped out and replaced by someone who knows what they are talking about- rather costly experience!! Hope you don't think I'm dissin' the car- it looks super super clean and obviously has had a truck load of time & £Â£ spent (don't like the rear lenses but you can't please everyone!) Hope this isn't taken the wrong way. Good luck with the car (would make an awesome track tool with the hi-fi ripped out)

There is someone else who has had a bad experience with bexleys, cost him a new block IIRC
But have been great with my dad and a few other members here.
It will make a great track tool with it in, especially with pilot cups

Yeah mine came close to hydrolic(?) lock!!! Cost me a fair bit to get it all ripped out and start again...
I'm a bbs fan so sod the cups- stick split rims on!!!
