It's a US spec S52, converted to OBD-1, and some sort of aftermarket supercharger setup. I don't know the details of Randy's old motor but that is the basics of it.

its a 1999 m3 engine? I think this car is totally stunning, the bodykit is a bit chav, so are the wheels but imagine it with a tech 1 bodykit and a set of original alpina's.
If anyone has any other videos or aritcles about this motor, post them up

Yes, S52 is the "red headed stepchild" of the M-engines; it's the M50/2 based single-throttle, long-stroke motor. Not the 6-throttle glory you guys get on your side of the pond!

Hey, we can build the US motors to make similar power as the Euro's, FWIW : )maxfield wrote:StuMc316is wrote:Yes, S52 is the "red headed stepchild" of the M-engines; it's the M50/2 based single-throttle, long-stroke motor. Not the 6-throttle glory you guys get on your side of the pond!![]()

You would be suprised at how much cheaper a lot of parts are in the states Max. Ive recently being looking for some piston rings and can get OE spec rings imported from the US for a third of the price anyone over here will quote me.
