woooOffside front (floor) suspension component mounting excessively corroded.
Exhaust system has a major leak of exhaust gases.
Exhaust system has a part missing.
Exhaust system noise is clearly in excess of that emitted by a similar vehicle fitted with a standard silencer in average condition. Bugger. there goes my 'weld some pipe onto the mid section if it passes emissions plan.
Nearside (sill) seatbelt anchorage is excessively corroded.
MOT PASSED!

its a big list but mostly minor ,easily fixed faults.id stick with it and repair it as at least now you know theres nothing seriously structural wrong and you have a strong enough base to start from.

deffo a case of choosing the right mot man.
got chatting to one of them in cardiff and he said he fails any car with a non standard backbox as he 'likes to piss off the chavs'
he wasn't too impressed with my scorpion system, but as i was only bunging him a tenner so i could borrow his ramp, not a damn thing he could do about it HA!

All done!!!
I opted out of the pipe instead of back box idea and used an HKS jap crap backbox that my mate had kicking about. Its no quieter than when it was just the mid section but it looks more legal.
Welding was interesting, pulled the arch liner out and found half the sahara desert in there blocking the drain holes.
So... next step, MOT!

congratulations are a bit ahead of time to be honest. I now have to fix the problem of it overheating in traffic.
New viscous coupling or electric fan... decisions decisions.

Congratulations on the MOT pass mate
So we will definately see you at the SW meet now then,no excuses.
Ill have to check but think ive got a pair of fog blanks in your colour, ill have a look this week.
Go for an electric fan.
E34 air con fan is ideal(same as E30 M3),youll just have to make a couple of `L` brackets to mount it.
Wiring it to a dash mount switch is easy enough, control at your fingertip that way!
If you cant get the E34 fan then just mooch the scrappies for an alternative.I got mine from a 24v Mitsubushi thing.

Cheers eko, and yep I'll be there. I can do motorways and fast country drives,, its bloody traffic and traffic lights that make it hot. (not a good thing in plymouth)
I'd rather go for some sort of permanent power to the fan, my memory isnt the best so I dont trust myself to remember to turn it on all the time. Either that or a temp sensitive switch somehow.
Will be making a few trips to scrappies this week to see what I can dig up. If I dont have any joy I'll get an egay 'race' fan type thing.
Oh and I pilfered Haths fog blank, but my valance took such a beating at the last drift day (bloody tyre barriers) that it doesnt fit. Luckily hath is giving me his entire valance so that will be solved soon too.
