sorry, not rare as such but they are much less popular and not seen half as much as the RSRetro_wheels wrote:How are they rare? i can get you a brand new set now if you wanted!

Lm's? not that i know of, i can get hold of them no problem, its the RS's that are a nightmare to find
exactly, they havent made RSs for years, how can there suddenly be loads of cars on RSs. al the sets cars are wearing now must have been sitting around in sheds for ages waiting for people to remember how cool they are
however, the size of RS has a lot to do with how rare they are. there are lots of 15in ones around on the vw scene, a lot in 5x120mm pcd in 16in, but 17ins of all size are fairly rare and 18in even moreso.
i have a pair of 8x16 and pair of 9x16 RSs in 5x120mm sat in the garage at the mo. as a wheel theyre lovely, but i wanted 17s and couldnt afford a set of 17in RSs so got some style 5s
i personally think the LM is more suited to a more odern car. think they would look spot on on a motorsport inspired e36 M3

just because we see type 5's at shows and on forums don't mean you shouldn't got for them!
LM's are cool but the RS rule, come on theres no competition! they only downside to these type of rims is the serious cleaning and maintanence (sp) needed to keep them as they should be
I kick myself all the time for selling my mint never fitted to the car BBS RS 4 studs

I'd go for 17's myself but do like the look on 18's (wouldn't know how much they would effect handling though?)maxfield wrote:What size?playo wrote:LM's for me!
As these are the wheels i'm looking to get![]()
(in that case get rs's mate)
And where from might i ask
A guy on s14 called Swede seems to get them every now and then.
I know he has a black centered set of 17" LM's for sale right now!
$3K is what he's asking i think

are they mint and up for saledips346 wrote:not sure really but i have 2 sets here 8.5 and 9 didnt think there were that rareRetro_wheels wrote:how many have run 18" RS's though?dips346 wrote:Lm for me as harder to come by and too many m3s have the bbs rs now

they are pretty expensive, between 1500 and 2000 pounds to buy new
RS's make me come!!!

I'd nearly go for the LM's but in silver not in grey like the 1s on the M3's at the start of the thread.
First I was going to say RS but I think the LMs suit the M3 even more imo. The fact they are Modern look makes the car look younger but still no doubt a classic

Both are very nice and I also agree that the RS gives it a more period look ( but do lose the all chrome finish ) Naturally, its also more common...
The LMs fits but look more appropriate on a e36 upwards.....
What are u looking for? Correctness or Uniqueness? Only u know the answer.
I wun mind either! or even a Alpina!

Returned after many years out.

RS's all day long for me

RS's
I want some for mine or even borbet b's!

Maybe a more practical point:
RS are 3-piece and spare parts can be found rather easily while LMs are 2 piece and if a rim is damaged forget about finding spares. Even BBS can't repair them because they don't have spares anymore (talking about 17"). I recently had a discussion with them regarding this.
