whats a c25 1988 alpina worth fellas? needs work? 80k no history no log book no mot or tax no nothing? needs a complete re paint? rusty panels edges? what do you think? red.

very difficult to say what its worth. around 5000 if mint but in the condition you say a thousand maybe. I would be willing to bet it will cost several grand to get it right though even if you do most of the mechanicals yourself. Almost certainly cheaper to buy a good one.

is there any way of checking the engine numbers on the car? like a data base or something? similar to hpi,
i dont no much about engine numbers where abouts should it be on the lump? any idea what an alpina engine number should start with?

A C2.5 doesn't have an Alpina engine, just a cam swap.

Dont think so, from what ive read the only people who can confirm if its an alpina are synters and they will only disclose this info to the registered keeper i believe. Also i think they will sting you to the tune of £70ish..... Course if it turns out to be genuine then its money well spent.

I think all the above is correct for a C2 2.7 but could be totally wrong for the 2.5 !
