The C2.5 was a 'bolt-on' Alpina, rather than a full-blown one; i.e. it didn't have an Alpina engine, but there was a cam swap from standard amongst other things.

There are those who consider it a 'lesser' Alpina as a result.

The C2 2.5 is a nice enough thing when driven,but the C2 2.7 is much better imho! :D
