1650 according to my book, that's full aswell.

Even in it's 1650kg state it is quicker than most 2.7's could ever hope to be. It is a fair bit quicker than the Alpina once over 60mph.

I know that a lightweight 3.6 will piss all over a full fat 3.8, so u can maybe see why i am thinking of doing this.

Still a heavy old beast to push through the bends but they are well balanced and have loads of grip.

The gug was and is the quickest 2.7 i've been in, i've been in all 3 all cars mentioned. I know theres a bexleys "230bhp monster" but i have never seen it or been in it

Sorry to **** on fires here but well you know
Guggy didn't have no where near as much low end torque as Alpina! Karan witnessed this himself.

But Guggy was certainly fast.

It did have the advantage of very low gearing remember....but it was still a flipping monster.

230 Bexley monster felt fast, put down good 1/4 mile time in wet on BK's.

That's it, Alpina gets 15" bbs's with 205/50 for this race!
so what ET and trapspeed does a 230bhp m20 get?

And this is where your engine came from! 200'000 miles worth of 525e that I paid £40 for and ran for 3 months until the ECU failed. The engine was removed with a tractor forks..........
The cam was shagged beyond belief but the bores and crank absolutely perfect.
D130ALO's heart beats a lot faster in another car! I still have the logbook for this.

Interesting to see where it came from, even if it was from a complete shitter.

That block certainly did the rounds before i got my paws on it, well saved Andy

I took it down to Ant when he was at Lillian Cuntstubble. It was heaved into the back of a rented Golf TDi and deposited a bit of oil on the boot mat which had to be pressure washed clean before it was given back.

Nope, haven't got the V5 (must have sent it back) but still have the service book. Sold new by Milcars in Stanmore - the reg number is very close to Nelly's green Baur.

The engine, must have been really we serviced or driven very sensibly to have got to 200k and still have a good block no?

What condition was the car in when you got it Andy, i am guessing that pic is after you fragged it?

It was a bit of a shed. It did in fact have loads of history but it had one iffy wing, a shock absorber that had lost all it's fluid and a toblerone cam that you could hear 50 miles away. Oh, and the auto box wouldn't engage converter lock up and had an endearing habit of not having any drive - you had to give it a good rev in N or P before it worked.
I bought one new shocker from ECP, changed the cambelt and used it for 3 months. I thought I'd sold the fecker to a mate of Pacerpete's until one morning it failed to start (ECU).
And that was the end of that - but I got more for the engine that I would for the whole car. The bonnet and boot were sold along with the head (good old Ebay) plus I kept the front legs, wheels and tyres, instruments.

I broke it to over £300 in the end!

Cheers Mark

Massive Thanks to Oz for the trust/confidence he's shown in me on this, as a new start venture as of April last year, A-Tech (me) could have been seen as a gamble with regard to this build.

Pleased with this one, only just done 3K from rebuild and with a higher limiter should see a few more ponies as she loosens up some more.

Big thanks too, to Nigel @ Bexleys for squeezing me in today at very short notice :thumb:

If Oz adds megasquirt to this, as he said he may, this is going to be slightly more powerful still. Ant's 2.5 N/A engine with MS drives really well.

Thats probably about right for 6114 rpm, no wind resistance don't forget, never achievable on the road :(
