Hi Guys

Are there any Zoner's in the Bristol area who'd be willing to lend me a bearing puller, or even better be willing to help me change my rear near side wheel bearing? I'd happily throw someone some hard earned cash if they help me out.

I really can't afford to pay a garage to do it, and I don't have the money to get the tools at the moment! If anyone can help me out I'd be very grateful.

Cheers,

Halfords do a puller set for £19.99

If I had some spare time you could run it up here to Gloucester and I would do it for you!

Good luck sorting it out.

I thought I'd have to spend £60 on the tools, will the £20 tool really suffice? Is it fairly easy to do once you have the tool? I'd happily attempt it myself if I knew I'd get a result, can't be leaving the car arse in the air for a week as I'd have no transport :(

It isn't too bad a job you just need some confidence and big hammers.

Ideally you would use a sliding hammer as BMW do, but you can use a large socket to drift the bearing out if necessary. (once you have taken the hub out and the wheel bearing circlip of course)

Have a go at it. There are plenty of people to help on here.

GSF price for the bearing is £12.44 ex. VAT.

I'm in Bishopston mate, Ashley Down area.

If you could spare some time at some point, I reckon I can limp around a little while longer... I'd happily do all the work under someone elses supervision and pay them for the advice.. I just don't want to cock it up.

Cheers,

Have you got a workshop manual, either a Bentley or a Haynes?

Get yourself a Bentley workshop manual. It will pay off in the future :thumb:
