Its been a great workhorse, i brought it about 3 years ago for £100. It was jammed in reverse so i stuck a box in it got a mot and all good. My missus old man needed a motor and he then used it. He put 38,000 miles on it in about 18 months and all i did on it in that time was a coolant hose, clutch slave cyl and pads and discs!! It was only a 316 carb m10, it still runs sweet as and i have never even changed the oil 8O . Its going to get weighed in next weekend. Here are a couple of pics of the state it ended its life in!! I don,t even think he cleaned it inside EVER!!! Kept him in the e30 family though, got him a 318i lux. Told him to look after this one.

A properly used car. Every penny worths used obtained, and now laid to rest.

His CO2 footprint must be so low he's entitled to a days free congestion use somewhere...
Selection of BMW hardtops available, please ask!

It should have had a health warning on the inside, its disgusting. I have had to move it every morning off site and back again at 5 and always have to wash my hands after. Have to use a screwdriver in the ignition switch as the ignition housing and barrell is seized, he got quizzed by the police once, they thought he stole it. lol. I never did get around to giving him a stereo either.

He seriously did use to sleep in it if he was working late at one job and starting the next one early to save making a 100 mile round trip for 2 or 3 hours sleep. He used to keep an alarm clock on the dash too.

looks like somethin u'd see at the start of pimp my ride. Write in, get it pimped, get it sold to someone council and repay yourself (for providing an old man with a reliable work horse) with an m3

Wow - properly beaten into the ground, dragged back up again for some more use and then kicked up the ar5e lol.

Now that's motoring for you and for £100 - well worth it all day long.

RIP 316.

Neil.

good old M10 engine, no M40,42 would take that mis treatment or lack of servicing!

Is the shell rotton?

The shell is sound si, i am having the bonnet, wings, doors onto the red track slag and a couple of other bits and pieces( i am such a hoarder ). The engine is brilliant, i am worried that the m40 lump wont put up with the way he treats cars. Still the lux was only £80, just dont need the aggro of repairing it! Do you want bits off it before it goes?

yeah i think the sunroof is fine, will take it off. prob get it picked up sat am so strip bits on fri eve. Its got about 40 brake discs and another e30 rear subframe inside it now as its getting weighed in. Not sure if i should keep the engine, its so good seems a shame to let it go. Already got 2 other e30 engines in the garage. :)
