Guys - Is fitting a new hood for my convertible is something fairly achievable by the average enthusiast like me or is it a definite no-no? Do you need special tools or expertise?

Has anybody tried ? any experiences to share on this one? trying to make up my mind on whether its worth having a go or paying £200 to get it fitted...

If anybody knows of instructions somewhere on the net it would be great.

cheers!

Fitting a second hand hood, complete with frame, is easy enough. There is no way I'd attempt to fit a new hood to a frame though - definately fork out that £200 (or whatever it costs!). :thumb:

as dave says, he sent me the instructions i looked at em and decided not to... i watched the company who fitted my roof and decided it would be possible to do with average tools and little experiance but i would not like to risk knackering a 4/500quid roof fabric in an effort to save 200 quid... and secondly a badly fitted cabby roof will devalue your car more than the cost of having a pro fit it.

and to give you an idea i re-sprayed my mums E39 with no experiance with no worries....so i am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying things myself, but the roof i would not be happy to take on!
