Bit OT, but E30 related in that I need this to help you lot!
As some of you may know, I've recently had a computer failure because of a furbarred hard drive. Most things are back to normal now, but I can't install my ETK.
My computer - Tis(D:) - Win95 - BMW - TIS - SETUP works OK, but setup only starts if I right click, and then double left click on open.
I then get a language selection box, select English, then a brief box about Wizards.
Short while afterwards I get a pop up, headed "Severe"
Setup dll:D:\Win95\BMW\TIS\instlib.dll can not be loaded!
Aborting setup.

Anyone help?

I work as a PC Doctor. I may be able to help :-)

What operating system do you have? This pop-up box that says "Severe" - does it just say that or something else? If it gives you an error code, look it up on Microsoft knowledgebase - http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1

Are you having problems installing any other programs?

Sorry, meant to say Windows XP proffesional. The pop up box has "severe" in the blue strip at the top.
No error code - only other thing in the box is the red circle with a white X.
I'm being dragged off to a wedding party in about five minutes, so won't be online again till this evening.
Thanks for the offer of help!

Bit extra: The blue strip also has the red square "close" icon with a white cross, and the message part also has a rectangular click on box with OK in it.

I had the same thing when trying to install it after i'd switched to XP and never got to the bottom of it and gave up.
I eventualy got it working again (about a year later) and the only difference i can think of was that i was trying to install it on a partition that was formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS on the hard drive.
Other than that i was stumped  sorry.
There is NO nucleus.

Before the big crash, my computer was running XP home as well, and I don't recall any problems installing the TIS/ETK on that.

it's interesting that Martinaston had a problem with FAT32 vs NTFS... but which way round?

hi, just had a look at both my pc's and they are both running NTFS. somthing else that I thought it could have been at the time was the language the actual pc is running in to begin with. the pc that it does not run on is running windows xp pro in welsh !!! ( don't ask lol )

sorry not to be much more help than that.

I bet it could be a home vs pro thing though?

Install the TIS disc, prior to installing the ETK.
TIS was in the D drive, had followed the instructions on thr "read me" file, and had just started on the on screen prompts.
As an experiment, I put the TIS disc in a laptop running ME. This insisted it was an audio CD, and I couldn't even start the installation.

Followed through this. Kept asking questions that I don't understand, but it ended up in the same message.
