it seems not fair to you guys , cause couple months ago i found original alpina 15" for 150 euro and didn't have the money , but i got a better deal this month i bought bbs 15" for 50 euro all in really good condition :)
but i bought some second hand tyres and they were reeally old and they got me spinning on one curve and i scratched the front right wing :(
so never put on bad tyres

Which leads onto another reason some people do not like the reps. The weight of them affects the handling of the car and you get less feedback through the steering wheel, hence why people say 17's are for posing.

I had the BK 17's reps but changed to 15 BBS's which I much prefer fell wise. At the end of the day it depends what you do with the car. If you the kinda guy who likes to go out driving trying to extract lots of performance out of their car I would go for 15's or 16's. If your not that way inclined then go for the reps.

It was a tough decision for me as the 17's do look very cool but as my favourtie passtime is screaming down country roads the extra feedback makes the difference.

Keep your eyes peeled too, some people just don't know what things are worth.

I bought a set of Genuine 16" Alpinas a few years back, they were all 7J but at £200 with brand new Bridgestone S02s I wasn't complaining.

I ran them for a few weeks, decided I preferred my 15" BBS and sold them on for 'a bit' more than £200.

Considering they are replicas, the black 16s above look awesome.

cheers :thumb: would have been a bit of a shame to do it to real alpinas, pluc i can't justify the money on them. for alpina money, i'd be running BBS splitties.

you're another fan of black wheels with polished rims then?! what are yours?

17" Hartge 3 piece split-rims. I'm a big fan of 15" wheels on the e30, but couldn't resist these:

Handling is much better with the 15s. I need to get some big brakes behind these so I can justify them! :D

But theyre not in the same ball park as BBS are they?? I had some Alpina reps on my old Tech2 and I found them nice looking but I had to replace 3 of them over a year as they wouldnt balance, they were very heavy and are just pooly made.....I think same goes for most BK alloys. A friend has 299s? on his scooby and says the same.

I'm near Partridge Green. Would possibly go to a South Meet - currently got the car in bits though!

I mentioned to you and Kerry that we have a curry Meet down here. It swaps venue and every 3 months we are local. The next one's soon so I'll send you the details. :D

I like the look of them Kayalami's but although they list a suitable offset on the TSW website try getting hold of 'em, and even if someone reckons they can get them they'll probably come back and tell you the hub size is wrong... at least that's what I was told when I tried to get them...

Hi dom,

£500 inc. tyres is a good price, though what tyres? Also, 205/40x17 although standard size is actually too small for an E30 (should be 215/40x17, keeps your speedo in cal and looks better too - add c£30-50 per wheel though!)

Did they confirm the offset & hub size are correct? I was told although the offset was OK (with spacers maybe?) the hub size was incorrect... if the hub size is a little too large you can get spiggot rings (have I spelt that correctly?) to compensate but if the size is too small or too large you can't. I was told these wheels wouldn't fit an E30 'cause of the hub size. Better check that first mate.

FYI, explanation can be found here:
http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/offset/pic001.htm

According to TSW's website you can get them...
http://www.tsw.com/app_guide_results.ph ... &B1=Submit

If they do fit go for 'em, I'll be jealous though...

hi Garyp,
just got off the phone with the guy at 'Speedzone' price of 17" TSW KYAMALI package 215-40-17 £590 + £40 delivery. As for the off-set.......off-set 25 bore size 57.1 which the guys tells me is fine for my car, does that sound right to you?

Cheers

Spot on mate, et24 is the OE fitting and the hub / bore size is 57.1mm so no need for spiggot rings or spacers :D (4x100 pcd of course!)

I really like 'em wheels, feeling jealous now :(

Make sure you post pictures of your car wearing 'em, assuming you get them... and pm me when you do so I can see what she looks like :D
