i think you'll be buying this one based on milage rather than it being looked after. the wheels need a refurb - budget 200 for that. the rust is not bad but it'll still cost to put right.

i remember you have 9 points - if i were you i'd be looking to fix a thick block of wood to the back of the accelerator pedal until they've expired....

Lol.

Ive got a super bike mate so the speeds not the problem, Ive just been unlucky! Got 6 points test driving a car I wasnt insured on....ok I shouldnt have done it but lets be honest, I bet 95% of us have not been insured whilst on a 15 min test drive of a car u were about to buy. The other 3 points were for doing 40 in a temp 30 zone (usualy a national zone but temp road works).

The answer is to be more careful! i've had 9 points by the time i was 18 and been to court for it bla bla. I bought my sport at 21 with 9 points and the insurance took my trousers down for it

u need a new boot lid that part on the back panel isn't too bad, one arch looks to need replacing and probably the inner one too. I'd be more worried about the jacking points and sill as those early sports are horrors for it. In fact they rust anywhere on the car!

I'm guessing he must have come down a bit on the price. When I enquired about the car a little while back he was asking too much for it.

Cheers,

Rich.

can you really beat rust? or can you just delay it for a while.i think the only definate way is to replace rusty panels completely, although that obviously is much more expensive

i think my archs were done about a year before i got the car which was about 4 years ago and rust is just starting to creep back through.
just had jacking points welded and a new front lowere valance put on as well but i recon on a couple of years it will be back.
not sure you can stop it altogether once its set in, just slow it down then chase it around the car.
grim i know but unless you have a mint shell, keep it garaged and waxoiled there no alot you can do, there old cars now.
