A bit surprised by those times for the Saxo and AX, have they had anything done to them.

The M3 times seem pretty accurate, bit slower than the book.

Got good starts, these were done today. The Saxo we did today, it is a completely standard 52 plate VTR. Seems a touch quick?

The AX does seem quick, but it is a quick little motor, quicker than the Touring by quite a bit!

Once I get the 2.5 in, I'm gonna go to Santa Pod, take the G-Tech to see how accurate it is...

it won't do 60 in 2nd gear, so i'm expecting to get rinsed by andy335 with his new 3.64 lsd

yeah i got problems with my drivetrain ratio karan. 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th are fcukin perfect with my setup, not honestly too bothered about getting to 60 quickly, but i NEVER use 1st it's just too low. and i hit the (chipped) 6500 rev limiter yesterday in top at an indicated 150ish so cruising at 120 is pretty buzzy.

andy has the same drivetrain as me but with a 3.64 so i'll be having a go in that soon to see what i think.

we better not start a war between us Will, otherwise give us a week and both out cars will be blown up!

6.34's pretty damn good though considering you should have a fair bit less torque than me. can you get 60 in 2nd gear?

Toby, mine is quicker now but it won't quite reach 60 in second so it's a bit of a step back wards 0-60 wise until i can get a sport box.I'm not to bothered though about 0-60's it the over all improvement i like with the new dif.

You'll have to drive mine with the G-tech to get some good times as i'm crap at it ! :?

So many goodies attracting my attention but my wallet can't keep up !

Sport box
big brakes
new wheels so i can fit the big brakes
track day
remap after the tb's are fitted

Wil,have you G-teched with your new air box ?

i need to gtech mine without the chip. i took the chip out today and it runs way better even though it feels flat above 5.5 and is limited to 6.2, but i haven't performance tested it yet.

looking forward to a go in yours andy!

cool mate. sorry i couldn't get over yesterday, i had to clear all my junk out of a mate's garage! i can pretty much get up to you anytime.

what's the deal with your airbox Will? i'm thinking about swapping that integra R cone i have for the stock e34 airbox and then plumb my fog-light air intake straight into that to see if i can get a ram-air effect at high speed.

except i can't be bothered at the moment. i need to sort out what's happening with this chip first!

The airbox i got is a BMC CDA, it beats having that K&N cone far back in the bay so its sucking up its own heat! Its basically a enclosed performance filter and advertises its design as being able to increase performance somehow with an air break i think? I dunno, but i do know it gives the engine a nice little induction whirr as it spins up!

yeah but also does your sport box have a higher 2nd gear than my normal box karan? do you have a 3.91 diff like me?

also i reckon i'm losing a few mph cos my rear tyres have no tread :teehee: (zero as of today as i did a bit of a burnout to warm em up!!!)

anyway hopefully i'll get those flippin rear tyres put on this week, then either get the chip sorted or put it in the bin, then re-test it, and y'all better be ready for a fight! :shoot1:

i can't drive it anywhere though now! they are actually bald! got pulled by the feds on saturday (red rear bumper seems to attract attention!) and they weren't best pleased - but i showed em the new tyres in the boot so it was ok.

must say though it's soooo fun in the wet with those tyres at the moment, you can drift for ever on hardly any throttle

Hi Guys

G-Tech timers are very useful to see what effect your adjustments make.

I have a G-Tech Pro. Newer version i think cost $250. I use it on everything. Cooper S mostly. You can relate it to a track and see at each corner how many G you are pulling, your fastest speed at different points of the corner (exit being the important one) and when you change gear and at how many revs.

You can then work out the best speed to carry into a corner / gear change. It also tells you horsepower but i dont think it is horsepower at the wheels but a point below???? (anyone know?)

Obviously track / tyre temperatures and so on have to be accounted for to get very accurate results but for comparrisons it is a must.

Looks very professional hooking it up to a laptop and downloading trackside (imho)

Cheers

Russ

Got my Gtech today.Had some trouble with the BHP, i entered 2244 pounds (which i roughly worked out as 1100kg what my car is) and did a shit run, got 77 lol.Obviously aint right.

But i did 1 0-60 run and got 9.07 (its a 1.8i) which aint bad for a first run.

Atlast got my GTECH today, small delay but we won't go into that...so off to the quiet part of town.....and here we go.....

0-60 - 6.96 sec
1/4 m - 15.46 sec
Terminal speed on 1/4 m - 96 mph

I only managed one run to 60 and 2 qaurter miles and I had to start in the layby on the motorway and blast out onto the local A road just to get enough clear room to test.

Spec: M20B25 - Zone ' wild ' chip, std airbox, Short shift, s/s exhaust. :D

Have you tried the BHP thing yet mate?I was slightly confused, i entered my weight in, but everyone on here has talked in KG, ie mine was around 1100kg, but the book says to enter it in pounds. Not sure whats correct, either way i got a pants reading when i tried it!!

I know it's not E30, but this'll make you think.....

My little baby Civic. I fixed the cigarette lighter and....

Did a couple of 0-60 runs...

1) 6.76 (slightly stonely lay-by start)

2) 6.83 (patchily damp start)

3) 7.02 (uphill a bit!)

and the best of all

4) 6.57 (good start - not 100% - on good surface completely flat)

:D

How's that for a 1.6 ?
