...and no im not talking about the missus! although she does feel good!!!
Last saturday while everyone else was enjoying Ace's E30 day, i had the wonderful task of replacing my clutch!!
I'd decided that I could no longer stand the squealing release bearing and the shoddy gear changes anymore, so I spent 3 hours throwing £90 worth of LuK clutch in, that I bought from my dealers...
also done a gearbox oil change while under there and had a quick tidy up too
I wanted to put my slipper in too, but I didnt quite have the time, as I had to get back and start work on Miniblobs car! customers eh!!
anyway, my iS feels glorious now. the clutch feels lighter, stronger, more direct and the gear-changes feel so much smoother due to the new oil... just shows that looking after your pride and joy really pays off!!
anyway, i just thought i would share my happiness with you...
oh, she feels beautiful!!

hi quaser...
the gearbox oil for my iS is Castrol SA80. im not sure if you can buy it in small portions, but im sure you could. everything at my dealers (as with all BMW dealers) is castrol, and its definately the best stuff to use!
however, i bet you didnt know, that some of the manual gearboxes on E30's used ATF (automatic transmoission fluid!)
if you get a chance, undo the FILLER/TOP UP plug on the side of the gearbox, and dip the end of a white towel/rag in the gearbox, so that the end is covered in fluid. if the fluid is yellowy/browny coulor, its SA80, if the fluid is red, its ATF
hope that helps...
