:D
Went in and got some bits using the Halfords Trade Card yesterday.

For a 1991 318i

Air filter - Retail £11.49 - Trade £5.95
Alternator belt - Retail £3.49 - Trade £1.63
PAS belt - Retail £3.89 - Trade £2.03

and the best one is

Cam Belt - Retail £20.49 - trade £6.82

A total of £16.43, saving me almost £23 over the cost to Joe Public :D

It may be like a Toys'R'Us for chav's, but I'm not so damned proud that I'm going to ignore savings like that.

I go direct to the motor factors that supply the garages and get trade price no questions asked, though back home I used to have to get my dad (a mechanic) to ring up and reserve parts and I pick them up at trade price

Just walk into the local branch and ask at the parts desk.
You'll need to show that you are involved in the car trade in some way though.
If you are'nt, how about one of your mates? winkeye
