Jon, would you say this stuff is better then Meguires? My car should be out of the bodyshop next week after the re-spray and i only want to use the best stuff on her after that. I've been using meguires for a while and i think their stuff is fantasic, so if Zaino is better, then it must be amazing stuff

i my opinion yes its the best available anywhere
iam a perfectionist and i want the best finish i can get
repeatedly zaino has come out in tests against everything else on the market
durability is best in market
gloss and depth of shine is amazing and its layerable so the more layers the deeper the gloss
its asystem ie more than one product so that puts some off as they ewant the 20 minute quick fix and for car to be stunning
its horses for courses i want a totally flawless finish and therefore am willing to take more time to achieve this

i have tried umpteen products but for paint surface its the best bar none
dont get me wrong i use other products too ie metal polish, trim, glss etc but for paint zaino all the way

Image

that is one coat of Z2 pro and one spray of z8 finale detailing spray

zaino (at present as other products are about to be launched) is totally non abrasive but swirl mark remover is about to appear and beta tests are saying its incredible and better that 3M swirl mark remover which has been regarded as the leading product and which i use.i cant wait to see that!!!
therefore on older paint you need to clean oxidisation ,contamination off before application
but in your case Ben thats not an issue and zaino will lock in and enhance gloss to amazinglevels
picture speaks for its self

i have a lot of hi res pics of my car i can send to you if u want to look at surfaces etc if u give me an email addy
people alaways comment on finish on my M3 and that paint is 17 years old

you wouldnt be disappointed

c76jon - thanks for sorting this out.

As someone who is used to using Autoglym, what do you recommend to start off my 'kit' of Zaino products. Assume I do not have anything in terms of cleaning stuff. Is the 102 quid the thing to buy?

Please bear in mind, my car is not garaged and I am keen to keep the paint fresh with little/no fade from the sun.

Look forward to your advice as you defo know what you're on about with the way you look after your motor.

Cheers

Bugger! I ordered mine on friday, so I've missed the discount.

Anyway, what I'd also like to know is whats best to use for applicators & buffing/finishing as I do mine by hand

ok
well remember this is all my opinion

whatkinda paint have u got
is it metallic with clear coat or is it flat colour

if u have metallic then the kit is good for you

if not you dont need the z2 pro as the z5 will be fine

if you rang the guys then they will swap items around to suit your paint type for sure
dont forget to mention the zone will you

remember zaino is american and a massive problem americans have unlike us to a large extent is very very stong sunlight ie florida texas etc etc
therfore any products that are going to be successful there must have top UV protection to prevent fade etc
zaino is market leader in this protection and its durability is amazing
zaino is not awax
waxes are good and give good finish but they do not last and as the car is at one with the elements this lastability problem with wax shows up more and more whereas zaino seals and blocks and doesnt deteriate anywhere near as quick

Our research and development in advanced molecular-chemistry has resulted in Show Car PolishԚ┞¢ products that offer the wettest-looking, clearest, deepest, and longest lasting finish in the industry. Best of all, Zaino Show Car PolishԚ┞¢ creates an award-winning finish without the use of abrasives or harmful silicones. Plus, because we want your car to look its best for many years to come, our Show Car PolishԚ┞¢ products include the most powerful sun-block available in a paint protection system: UV-40. Our polish is literally sunscreen for your car

quote

Dear Mr. Zaino:

For years (ever since I was 16), I tried many different waxes and polishes. Some were better than others, but I was amazed at how similar they all were.

After I bought my new Yukon in 2000, I was on the Edmunds.com forums, and I kept hearing about people talking about Zaino. After about the fifth time of hearing it was the absolute greatest stuff in the world, I finally checked out your website and ordered some (this was several years ago).

I am here to report that it really IS the greatest stuff in the world! The slick, slippery feel after I use the Zaino Z-2 and the Z-6 is just amazing! The shine is incredible. The depth and gloss....Heck, I could go on and on.

This is one of the few times in my life that I have bought a product that really is as good as it says it is. I will be a customer for as long as you continue to make this outstanding product.

unquote

the sun makes your paint fade and zaino will stop that period.

but you have to remove the oxidisation first as i have said at the mo zaino is a non abrasive product and thus surface of your paint must be prepped before application

best product to do this at mo is P21s paint cleaner available here

http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/sp/ ... sh_wax.php

half way down page

this will clean the paint well and ready you for zaino

another thing is too only use MICROFIBRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
use it to wash, dry, apply product and remove product

same site has very good quality MF
it will not scratch your paint
sponges, leathers etc etc should never be used as these will do more damage than you trying to remove.
once you have used MF and especially the drying towels you wont ever use anything else
one waffle weave drying towel will dry a car easy and you wont wring it out even during drying

hope that helps a little

imho autoglym is terrible terrible stuff
hard work and that chalky residue !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt
see my comments above reference application materials

ideally an orbital buffer is best to apply abrasive products as they work far more efficiently than a hand tho it can be done by hand tho i will stress that iam not on about a mop type thing you find in bodyshops here as to the untrained man a lot of damage can be done!!
there are buffers available that spin but also spin off centre as to not concentrate in one area and these are the type to use
i have an american one made by Porter Cable
its 110v but i run thru a transformer.
meguiars do one wich is cordless and is on their site.supposed to be very good
http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/foryourcar.html

bottom left of this page shows what i have tho its quite dear in fact its 70 quid in the states so its a rip off here in my opinion just glad customs didnt stop me coming thru LOL

But this is going to extremmes and for obtaining flawless and i mean flawless finishes and only for cleaners/swirl mark removers etc all of which can be appliede by hand and give brilliant results

i apply all zaino by hand using microfibre

hope it helps

Thanks for the advice John.
Someone bought me a polisher for christmas (not used it yet) but it's not an off- centre type though. I think I might try it out on the wifes Clio first before I attack mine.
I've ordered some P21s cleaner & microfibre cloths (maguires) so I should be all set.
I don't suppose you have any tips for reviving red paint?

Cheers

ok well give it ago on hers first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

but then we get into what matarial is on the head of it etc try it by hand first.

red and white paint are feckers if left to sun and rain

use the p21s cleaner small areas at a time
fair pressure and use microfibre to apply
it is a very very good product and i think it will do wjat you need it to
when you buff off check finish
it nmay need another pass by but i doubt it
also less product often works better
that really is case with zaino

Sorry to ask a lot of questions John, but have you tried the p21s alloy wheel cleaner advertised on the same site? It sounds good but then they all do.
I'm hoping that a decent cleaner will make my alloys sparkle rather than going down the refurb route.

no problem

ill answer as many as i can
i have used that wheel cleaner
its made in a place called ingolstadt in germany i lived there for a while and used it first there

its very very good but pricey
its nonacidic but what is clever is that its kind of a gel so it sticks to wheel when applied
thus it doesnt run off immediately and gives good cleaning to whole wheel

i use believe it or not traffic film remover diluted down
non caustic and very very good at lifting dirt
and a lot cheaper
yet to find anything better and i can buy 5 litres for a tenner and make 15-20 litres of wheel cleaner

i have both seen John's car in the flesh and have also started using Zaino for myself and it is fantastic. it is great and it is certainly a bargain for what the results are, and less is definatly better.

hope this helps

I ordered my zaino over a week ago, still not arrived yet.

How long does it usually take to come? I'll probably have to chase it up.

I've just received an email back saying that they had run out of stuff, should be despatched today. Must be all the zoners depleting the stocks of Zaino.

I just need a large tin of elbow grease now.

Right I'm sold. I have an off centre buffer, £15 from screwfix, just the ticket. Done a marvellous job.

I've always got on ok with autoglym paint renovator but you cannot argue with those zaino results!!!!

How much is this stuff? With a met. balck cab, I need z2 and the p21 cleaner stuff to get me started???? Money isn't in abundance, so need to prioritise.

Plus am off to the states in June, will look at it there for price comparison.
