No house would force me to sell my car after ten years of ownership!
In fact, I bought my E30 about a month before buying my house.
Get a bigger morgage or borrow money from people, I dont see £4k being of use on a house worth £150k anyways.
Just my opinion but I wouldn't sell it!

the pattern/line runs top to bottom on the back seat and across on the fronts

Why dont you just keep it?rky4 wrote:Oh I see, of course. I prefer em that way,
mind you lets hope whoever buys it does too!!
to be honest this looks like a advertisment for your car.
why dont you just put an add on the forsale section?
your car will not sell on ebay for that price. even if it was £3600 it wouldnt. put the car in the autotrader for just over 3k and you will find a victim if the car is up to scratch.

Hmm, when you've had a car 10 years you do get attached to it and it's worth a lot more to you.
For example if my 316 were still alive today I'd probably be asking as much as £8.50 for it when we all know it's not worth a penny over £6.25

If all that's wrong with it is the seats (& the gearknob!), then I'd say it's not far off the money! Mint sports still fetch a lot... No way I can tell if it is that good from those pics though... Some of you must have blimmin incredible eyes!
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...

I wouldn't pay that much for a Sport with those miles on. I'd expect it to be REALLY mint, almost concours, as you stated in your poll. To be fair though, the only minor faults that can be seen from the photos with it, as Ziggy has already said, are the drivers seat and the aftermarket geraknob.
Another thing though, the photos REALLY don't do it justice. If you're selling a car it's always worth trying to take one REALLY good photo than many mediocre photos.
The photo below was part of a series that I took of my Golf GTi that I put on Ebay... and I really took my time getting the car prepared and positioned to take advantage of the environment. You can see that it affects how the car looks.
Not having a go at all, just offering advice for you to successfully sell your car for top dollar.
Giles.

See what I mean...?

It amazes me trhat people SAY they wont pay decent money for a good e30. the reason I am surprised is that as they cost so much to fix and get right. 3000-5000 is reasonable for a really good one that has already had the money spent on it and from personal experience I can tell you that buying a cheap car for say a grand will end up costing as much or more not to mention all the hassle.
I thought the Photos were pretty good, especially the main one.
The angled Exhaust, yes I hate it, I went to Micheldever Tyres to get a Scorpion Stainless put on it (that I had ordered with them) and when I arrived (the old exhaust was blown so they ripped that off and when they went to put the Scorpion on it did not fit, the box was too wide, so they only choice was to fit what they had or sit there in the middle of nowhere all night and wait for another type to turn up. They claimed they had the right exhaust and they started asking me if my car was an import etc, I think they were just covering their arses!
Service History, yes it does have service history, I have generally done most of the servicing myself, however big inspections and cambelts have been done by a main dealer (at silly expense).
I have to add to this, whenever anyone else services my vehicles, they never take care like I do, for example, the 1st time I ever had a bike of mine serviced by a main dealer, on the journey back oil was pissing out all over my left foot and on the back tyre (nice) and whenever I get the car back there is always something, tiny scratches where the Tech has been leaning over the engine bay etc, that I have to polish out.
Ahhhhh that feels better!

looks good to me, as said if you get a cheep one you spend more time fixing it than driving it, so you might as well spend the money and get a good one and keep it mint and you can get back what you payed for it
