Hi all

I have had my E30 Convertible a while now but only today managed to get a confirmation email to get on E30 zone. HACKERS?? Anyway Yyyeeehhhh!
Mine is a completely standard chrome 320, with v low miles and a hood that needs the stitching redoing accross the top three hood support bars as it.
1/ lifts over 45mph
2/ LEAKS
Has any of you guys/gals any experience of sucessful restitching or know anyone in the Cambs area to recommend.

Cheers

ive never restitched it but i put sumthin called stormsure on mine over the top of the stitching. its a bit like loctite glue and that solved the leaking through the holes left from the stitching.then reproffed it all with autoglyms convertible kit.cleaned it really well and makes it waterproof again. :D

if you try and stitch it it just tears.try black(if the roof is black) silicone sealant which worked on my old roof ..put it on sparingly with a finger while the roof is not stretched..it has some give in it..

TBH mate, sounds like you should be saving up for a new roof. Would solve all the problems and yo'll have a spangly new rear window to peer through.

Stormsure - thanks , just looked it up. I've got Renovo ultraproofer ready to go on as soon as we get some nice weather. (august then.)
