Hi

I will be getting a new hood fitted early next year to my 318 cabby, has anyone used Prestige Autotrim and if so are they any good?

https://prestigeautotrim.com/uk/bmw-e30-carhoods.html

Thanks

Gary

No I’ve not heard of them, the prices are certainly very reasonable & the better fabric looks good.
Have you considered visiting them, they’re on the Wirral, by appointment it says, you can usually suss out what a place is like by having your wits about you, chatting with the staff etc.
Massive price reductions at the minute………but they don’t fit them.
Just remembered earlier this year a zoner on here put up a very old video meant for training BMW workshop technicians, it was showing the process of how to fit new hoods (E30’s) onto the existing frame, it was interesting & educational, would be very useful if you’re thinking of fitting it yourself. I think the zoner was from Oz.
Good luck & please give us feedback as to how you get on.
Cheers

I used this company when my other half’s MX5 needed a new hood last year, they supplied and fitted a mohair hood with glass window. The service was amazing, very professional, the hood was top quality and fitted like a glove, and we’ve not had any issues. Worth a look.

Impressive, but a lot more money than previous, but looks like it includes fitting & for mobile service only £100 more.
Again I’d be visiting for a chat before placing an order, only 56 mins from home.

Thanks for the replies, I’m not going to fit my own hood, so will be looking for someone to fit one for me, I live in Sunderland, so both options are a bit of a trek, I have read some good reviews about pristige on Mazda and BMW forums, so for £558 it may be a good deal.

I got mine fitted by Carhoodwarehouse https://www.carhood.com/ and was very happy with the work.
(Its on my project thread)

I used to work for an Mx5 specialist where i was fitting soft top hoods nearly every day and thought I'd do my E30 one myself. Then I saw the video on how to do it and thought otherwise :snigger:

Only thing weighing on my mind was if you fit it and something goes wrong or it leaks you cant go blame anyone but yourself really lol
Whereby if you get them to fit it you can always go back for it to be rectified.

But its been a few years now with no issues or sagging so I can recomend them fully!
