The guy working on my touring has been developing this and he's about ready to make it available. Maybe not for everyone but it's an interesting idea so I thought I'd share:

This is quite interesting, although i'm not a fan of the design of the display. I appreciate that there will be 6 themes to choose from, I just hope the others are better than that. Hopefully one of them will be in the style of the original, dark/orange with matching fonts.

A lot of the feedback he's had - including mine - was exactly this lol. I've suggested going to a monochrome screen/orange backlight to get better contrast and simplifying the design. It's coded in C++ though, so a lot of work for him to make radical changes I think.

I'd be pretty pissed looking the word calendar spelled incorrectly every time I get into the car! Wouldn't be for me either way - although I like the period correct looking stuff like the alpina style oil temp vent guages.

He's not developing the UI by himself is he?. C++ isn't an issue (I did C++ for almost 20 year), typically getting the user experience is the hard part.

Yes doing it by himself AFAIK. He is developing a plainer orange oem style theme.

Noted on the site there’s a mention of an OBC skin and it looks neat.

Looks cool and if it was decently priced I'd consider it but £495.00 INCLUSIVE is wayyyy too expensive for me unfortunately.
I appreciate the work thats gone into it so good luck to him with the sale! Hope its succesful.
Also there's just something about an analogue clock in an E30 that I like. Makes it feel even more old school lol
