Hey all,

Been a while since I've been on here, sorry.

I've been saving up to get my 318is restored, which would involve a sunroof delete.

I've had a quote, the one and only I can get. I could buy another 318is for the money they want.
I' m wary of having a sunroof delete done
I'm wary of going out and buying another 318is spending loads buying it and finding out loads is wrong with it

So I'm basically stuck in a jumanji loop. Ahhhhh!

Unfortunately the E30 is still not worth the price of full restoration, unless it is an M3. The prices have been pushed up by the values of some cars (porkers mainly). A 911 costs similar money to an E30 to restore but that resoration adds a lot more value to a 911 if done right and can be recovered in the final value.

Resoring an E30 only makes sense if you can do a lot of the work yourself or it is worth it to you to have a particular car in a certain condition.

E30s were getting there but still too many of them around to be truly rare (like good MK1 Escorts) and prices have dropped from their lockdown peak but resto costs have not.

I know I won't recoup my costs. It's a car for me that I love to drive and look at.
Not for shows or anything, don't want it to look like a pile of poo either!

I wish I was a mechanic, I did try a long time ago when I left school and got laughed at!

Does anyone know of the possible problems I could have having a sunroof delete done?
The only one I can think of is it bubbling up
