Having bought a lovely glacier blue 1991 325i cab earlier this year, I am just getting to grips with a few minor (and perhaps some more major) niggles and would really appreciate any recommendations for a local e30 specialist/garage who could help. I guess the niggles fall into 3 main categories so wasn’t sure if there was one place who could help overall. Not an expert and I know my limits so would prefer not to bodge things.

- roof and seals. Most pressing as the seals on the cloth roof aren’t behaving properly. Every time it rains the seats get clobbered from just above both the centre of the driver and passenger windows and I have to put towels on the seats. Also the electric cloth roof catches on the mechanism and has rubbed a small soon to be hole on the centre of the main roof. The drivers side vertical seal on the window is perishing and needs replacing as the window glass knocks and rattles when going over a bump
- engine, slight oil leak and would like a view on the engine efficiency and/or tuning, ok it has a lovely sound and I know the 325i engine is thirsty albeit currently getting about 180 miles per tank even with lightish acceleration which I reckon equates to around 15 mpg.
- trims and general. Door trim is bent and prob needs replacing as does the trim under the door (prob just some clamps? Revamped Air con not working (maybe needs gas?)

Any recommendations gratefully accepted. Live near pyrford not far from Guildford/Woking.

Many thanks, G

I second that… had a post purchase inspection completed by BMR which gave me a good pointer on what things to focus on first. Also had a GB conversion completed by them recently and am very pleased with their work.

Many thanks for the advice. Just booked the wagon in for next week. Sounded very knowledgable and professional on the phone.

Barry has a couple of E30s of his own including a 325i cab .

You can see his attention to detail on his M3 here
