1985 325e Idle control valve

Just a quick question, running the stock M20b27, and I'm pretty sure the stock ICV when started the car revs up to about 3000 RPM's and sits there, refuses to go down. I've tried cleaning the ICV...(not sure if I did it correctly) do any of you know if it might be something other than the ICV? or maybe it's just shot? Thank you!

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Spray carb cleaner all around and see if you can get it to run faster. That will help identify where it is. Also just check the throttle cable is allowing the butterfly to almost close. Best of luck. JED
