Hi,
I am looking at replacing my drivers side wing. I know BMW wings used to be by far the best fit, but more recently people seem to complain about the fit due to old tooling etc.
So due to the cost and possible fitment issues, I was wondering if there are any good spurious wing manufacturers. Or am I still better to bite the bullet and get a genuine one?
Thanks

I bought brand new BMW wings for my last E30. The guy working on the car was adamant they were pattern parts - only thing that finally convinced him was the sticker on the inside - I'd bought them from a main dealer too, so it wasn't some dodgy eBayer misadvertising.
According to him, BMW were now buying in these wings from an aftermarket supplier and selling them on - there was definitely a difference in the drilled holes at the top of the wing compared to what came off the car. Not sure how much truth there is in that
I think good second hand original wings are probably a better option if you can get your hands on them.

Thanks Ken. This is what I was worried about after shelling out BMW prices only to find a cheap €60 ebay wing fits better. Its getting hard to get good secondhand ones.kdevitt wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 1:38 pmI bought brand new BMW wings for my last E30. Mine did fit fine - they were just a bit different to the original ones I suppose. As the lad who is doing my CRX says - the pattern parts all fit - eventually. FMW Tuning supplied an aftermarket valance for me which was a perfect fit, they might be worth a shot.
