Just looking to know guys have any of you replaced your fuel tank and if so was it straight OEM or have you tried an aftermarket manufacturer
Is there any fuel tank companies in the UK who would produce a tank to rival or better OEM quality?

WOW just priced an OEM tank £800 + VAT
Im.taking mine out to do some body repairs so I'm just looking to see what my options are. I knew BMW would be expensive but I was thinking more around the 500 + Vat mark.

I have one of these and would recommend. Quick delivery also.

Thanks guys
I went the OEM route, whatever ECP were supplying at the time. Fitted perfectly, just had it powder coated prior to fitting.

Hmm if the replica ment a vast difference in pump noise I may punt for OEM.
Is it a big difference?

If the pump is noisier, it's probably in contact with the bottom of the tank. Careful measurement, and "adjustment" involving a piece of 2 x 2 and a lump hammer, through the pump fixing hole, is the solution.
Havre fitted lots of the aftermarket tanks from Ebay/ECP (they are the same) with no issues at all but they must be painted or at the very least covered in wax oil around the lip and filler neck as the silver coating they come in is just a primer and they soon start to go rusty (I have seen them like this when others have fitted the in the past.
That and silver is not the OEM colour so looks better in my opinion in black (as well as wax oil in the previously mentioned places)

Well that's reassured me. Being honest I would still be painting the OEM tank to give added protection.
