Apologies as I know this has been covered to death. I am just away to click the button on a set of collies for my e30. I have sourced a set of 51mm struts which are ready and waiting.
I know E30 WIKI stats GAZ as the recommended choice. I am just wondering how current that is. BC coilovers are relatively new and I just wonder how they compare and if GAZ is still the preferred option.
Longevity is going to be important since both require welding
silly low ride height isn't important. I am all about going round corners quick
cheers for any input

What gaz coil overs specifically and what are you doing with the car? Longevity with gaz gold I know isn't great for road use if you expect to fit and forget, but they aren't meant to be. They need servicing every so often not sure how many miles but I bought a set 2nd hand that had only done track miles and we're leaking. Gaz do a decent turnaround at a decent price though.
On the fronts you don't need to go very low before the collar rubs on sstandard bbs shod tyres but easily fixed with 5 mm spacers. Danthe here does them they are fine.

The car will be used for the road with occasional track use. Its very much my sunny day toy. The wheels are already taken care of.
After sale servicing wasn't something I had considered. good point.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has had both and their recommendations.
I'll throw KW in to the mix as well. I wonder if they are worth the extra money. I would be looking at the v2's as v3's have too much adjustments for me
cheers

I haven't used GAZ coilovers
but i did have a full gaz suspension set up before moving on to the BC coilovers
I found the gaz to be too hard/harsh for the road, where as the BC's seem to be more, forgiving

M50 Turbo!!!
I shall say no more
I ended up with BC's. They have been on a couple of years but only a few thou miles.
Can't fault them at all the ride is good and the quality is decent.

If KW are in the mix, that's a no brainer imo.
Thoroughly tested & developed product applications. Lifetime warranty. Dealing with a company involved with motorsport at the highest level.
Added bonus is stainless steel shock bodies - have seen these come off cars after 5 years of road use and they look like new after a good scrub.
Very nice suspension for the money. Next step up is really inverted monotubes from the likes of Bilstein, AST, Intrax etc which are much more expensive.
Edit: In terms of after-service, BC's can be rebuilt at home, in theory. Replacement inserts are available directly from BC.
