Guys, after a long time NLA, the spark plug wrench is back at the dealers. I just picked one up the other day.

The part number is 71 11 2 225 101 and is the two piece variety. This was NLA for over 10 years.

The initial run of 92 pieces sold out quickly, but they should be back in stock in Germany shortly, I'm told.
:D :D :D

Cheers,
Mike

Dude if you can get a good price for them I'm all for it a˜€ I tried and listed them at a high price but no takers as everyone seems to know there back a˜”

I sold 15 of them at cost to people on s14.net as they couldn't get them but as of May they will be available worldwide so try and make some cash quick a˜€ But I think the word is out and prices have crashed

Hold on to them for a while they will go back up I have 3 stashed for when the prices rise again a˜€

I still find it odd that BMW must of had these sat around for years as old stock ( I assume as they are stamped 'west Germany' ) and then suddenly sold the lot in a few days, thanks to Alex, ye already have plans for more ?
I'm all for BMW making parts that go NLA swiftly, but it doesn't sound right that they'd done so on a spark plug tool. Who knows though. I hope they do.
There is also the point they aren't quiet the same as M3 originals.

They've started making them again.. They certainly don't look 25 years old.

As above, word is out now, anyone with the mindset to search on eBay for a spark plug tool to complete the set, must be on at least one of the many forums where this has been discussed. Vis-a-vis, if you've bought bulk amounts at 30 quid a pop hoping to make some bunce, you may end up holding on to em till the next time they go out of production :)

I think the only one who cracked it was Pete who got in there before the news got out.

Interesting to note, the new one on the left says "Made In West Germany" WTF? Can it be BWM was hoarding these for 25 years, and now wants to cash in too, lol?

As someone on another forum said, I think they are old stock for M88 engined cars given a new part number.
BMW will sell you a E30 M3 Sport Evo propshaft ( lighter than the regular M3 part ) on the Sport part number. I'm told what you get is a regular prop. Seems the same thing.

M88 and S14 spark plug sockets are the same part number.
