it's cat C - doesn't worry me as it's going to be mainly a track car
just wondered if it was familiar to any zoners and if there was a build thread about it on here?

Wasn't the owner a member on here about 3 years ago and lives near Torbay area. If so i met the lad once, nice bloke and bought some gear off him. Car went very well indeed (as i remember some sideways action on the round a bout whilst i was following)

Yeah, I know a very small amount of info.....
Conversion was done down the road from me, was all properly done. Very rapid at the time.....

Was built up from rolling shell.

Look up M1k3 or something like it should pop up on here

Good to see it again, I can honestly say selling that was the worst thing I ever done.

Not the best thread but that's when I was putting the is engine in.
I converted it to 2.8.
I also think I still have the valet key and a chip for the ews. I put one of the chips in the key and kept the others but forgot to give them to the lad who bought it.
Pm me your address and I'll send you them.

You've got to love E30s......they may get old....but they never seem to die!
I knew someone on here would have owned it in the past/known of it
It's a great car.
Only bought it last week so I'm slowly going over it

Not much wrong with it......and it goes like scalded cat.....

Will PM you my address for the key/chip

Thats the only quirky thing with it at the moment. When I bought it the seller said I had to put the key in, turn it to ignition position II and then wait 10 seconds before starting it.

Seemed a bit of a bizarre procedure, and it's not a great cold starter at the moment. it fires and dies about 10 times before coming to life, so I was wondering whether the chip was in the key or the little remote fob and was not close enough to the ignition barrel and therefore starving it of fuel so it won't run?

I've opened up the remote fob, and the chip doesn't appear to be in there.

The key just looks like a standard BMW one so I didn't think it would be in there either but looking at it, it does look the plastic bit of the key does look like it's been 'melted' along one side so maybe you opened it and managed to get the chip in there and sealed it shut?

As fair as the chip in the key, yes I drilled it in then sealed it with melted plastic.
Always ran perfect as long as I had it mate. I miss it so much.

Yep....don't worry, it still runs well.....think it might be fueling issue at start up or sensor/crank sensor so will look into it.

Hi Mike, remember i came down to your house , you met me at the station and i followed you back giving it the beans on the roundabout ??? I bought a rear suspension unit from you and we chucked it in the back of my estate car. Nice to meet you, we had a good long chat about your conversion, it was super job and went like stink !!

Hope you're doing well mate

Hello Mike - i don't know if you're still on here much? I've sent you a couple of PM's but they are stuck in my Outbox so don't know if they have got to you?

Could you send me your email so i can try and sort out getting the spare key and chip off you if you still have them?

Guy
