Hello Malc!bosers wrote:Sorry if I've pissed anyone off, I was a bit refreshed and probably trying to be funny. Think I was bit peeved at abbreviations because I don't know what half of them mean.

I do echo those comments about in general facelift (or LCI as BMW call it currently) are supposed to be better models than the early models. Tech2s in general have better front headlamps, headlamp adjusters, more standard equipment or options than Tech1, LSD has 3.91 better ratio for acceleration. The only negative is Tech2s in general are probably a wee bit heavier than Tech1s.
Tech1s were made from 1986-1987 D, E plates
Tech2s were made from 1988-1991 F, G, H, J plates
So is really an 1980s car albeit the last two years of Tech2 production were in the very early 1990s.
Based on this small sample size for 325i Sports (E30)
Tech 1 12 votes
Tech 2 5 votes
Tech 1 is supposedly more desireable.
However, historically, Tech2s have always been more desireable and commanded more money despite the Tech1 being far rarer. The Tech1 has always been a cheap way to get your self into a Sport.
The market has spoken.
