what should it be for a 15 in rim.

205/55 is the orginal recommended tyre but many believe (myself included) that they handle much better on a decent 205/50 and look better too if lowered a little.
205s are much easier to get and cheaper for decent tyres too.
If the car is all orginal though and on standard suspension, probably better off sticking to 55s however
