I have been doing a few jobs on the car and have sourced parts from various places including some from the main dealer.
some main dealer prices are quite reasonable but the following amazed me;

interconnecting pipe at the bottom of the 55l tank £90 plus vat

Four m10 propshaft to diff bolts £114 plus vat - four m10 bolts 8O 8O

I was looking change those bolts at well and at nearly £30 each I decided against it as it wasn't necessary to actually change them 8O

Assorted nuts and bolts are a bit pricey but I find a lot leaves me thinking it's not too bad to go straight to the dealer.

There's already a thread on prices somewhere. Can't seem to find it at the mo.

Ratch started it - a good thread. BMW parts prices are insane - £550 plus vat for an E34 wiper rack is my favourite.

It's things that have been re-manufactured that is silly expensive,but where else can you get brake back plates from,for example?

At least you can still get them. The pain a chap I know withe Mk3 Capri 3.0S has to go through to get even some simple service items is crazy.
