It seems well known that the H&R cup kit for E30s is the favoured suspension by the majority of the forum but I am just exploring the other options of what's available for the same cost or less.

I've been thinking about this as I'm removing my coilovers and already have a pair of AVO adjustable rear shocks and was going to complete the set with a pair of front ones for the cost of about £200 plus springs which would likely end up being £350, only £100 or so shy of a cup kit.

The other issue is I would prefer to use a 60/40mm kit but I cannot seem to find the H&R springs sold seperately from the shocks in anything but 30mm spring kits.

So is it worth me running a complete AVO set (perhaps paired with matching springs) or is there a better ~60mm drop full set up for about £400...
Or is it not worth all this beating around the bush and just accept the H&R cup kit is the superior set?

Part of the thing that makes the Cup kit superior is the 30mm drop; going lower seriously compromises the suspension characteristics of the E30's rear beam, which is why people don't recommend it.
