Footman james I thought were really cheap!definitely go with a classic car insurance specialist as long as your not doing massive vamounts of mileage. they are much cheaper.jonesy318 wrote:As above guys, Ive got a 318 auto converted to I.S running gear etc etc and im struggling to get any sensible prices for insuring it or some companies just dont want to know..

Obviously for every person its different due to age, convictions, location, where the car is stored etc.
Steer clear of sky insurance, adrian flux have been very good with me so far and the cheapest, they answer very promptly, easy to talk to and don't have stupid hidden charges. You want to cancel at any time it's £50 plus time on cover.
If you don't mind paying a little extra go with Brentacre.
I am 23 so none of the classic policies would go near me.
I have done nearly every possible mod to my e30: m52, e46 rack, z3 lsd, interior, brakes, air ride, wheels etc.
£700 for the year. £350 excess, mods covered like for like.

My vote would be for brentacre, Yes they are a touch more but much better to deal with and the trouble with insurance is you only find out if you have made the wrong choice when its too late.
I am paying £380 for fully comp on a 325 converted touring, brake conversion, 5 stud, lowered, e36 box and z3 diff, exhaust, wheels and tech 1 kit.
Personally I think that's pretty good.
The big problem you will have is age, You said young driver friendly? How young?
I know on mine they would not have touched me without plenty of RWD experience and over 23.
