Right 17" wheels.

I know, I know, would rather go 16" but going 5 stud and big brakes soon so....

looking at a 215 width in either a 40 or 45 profile.

The 40 seems to be the general recommendation but slightly concerned how harsh they will be.

I was thinking the 215/45 would be a better bet for the sake of comfort as the roads are pretty bad around here at the moment but I am a bit concerned that it's going to look like a donk with the larger tyres.

What are people running? Any decent pictures?
The ones I can find on google are normally m3s so not much similarity to a touring.

Have some donks for your trouble:

i've got compomotive cxn's 17x8.5 running 205/40 17 on the front & 215/40 17 on the rear, dont seem that harsh even with yellow koni shocks, looks just right to me.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Here's a pic of my old Tech1 on 215/40/17 front,on 5 stud E30 front legs.
Thats what i ended up using and was quite happy with them not too harsh at all and that was on coilovers too!

I run 17x8.5 195/45/17 fronts and 205/45/17 rears. My ride was pretty harsh but I'm giving credit to the bad Maltese roads and the heated front springs (from the previous owner). Runs fine on average surfaced roads though.

Nice to see they don't look too bad on that tech 1, the touring will be getting a whole tech 1 along with the 5 stud.

Sounds like 215/40/17 is the way to go. Speedo will be correct as well.

Mostly going 17" as I have my hands on these:
