Funny you mention that...

The reason for my original question is Jamie couldn't help, however Cotswold said that they would need to order in from Germany. That lead me to ask myself why I don't just skip the middle man and order directly from Germany...or am I just being impatient...?

I've got things from BMW Germany from the dealership I use. Why do it that way? No shipping fees!

You cant order from bmw in munich unless you are an authorised dealer :(
Some aftersales companies like mstyle and schmiedmann have contacts in germany (dealers willing to trade with third parties)
In scandinavia, sweden is the largest hub, as parallel import through germany isnt looked well upon ( due to the lower vat. ) ;)

In the U.s, they also have bmwna to supply, but here there is always the regional issue, so some items are not available to the because the item never was on the U.s epc.
So they normally contact a european supplier to deliver to them as middlemen , because they are not allowed to contact BMW Munich directly , by contractual obligation to BMW NA.
