Seems reasonable if you're sure you completely drained the tank. Based on 1.30/litre, thats 52 litres or 11.5 gallons, so 26mpg.

If it costs you 58quid to brim the tank after the journey, then you got 30mpg, which is about as good as it gets in a 325i.

I get around 300 miles out of a tank. It's a touring too so a slightly bigger tank, which means you get better economy than me..

I used to have a M40 318i too, and that used to give me around 40 miles to £10, a mixture of driving.

My 325i cab gives me 40 miles to about £10 worth of juice, even though it's running a bit rough at the moment!

ive never had an e30 that wouldn't do at least 300 miles to a tank. 318i, 318iS and the 325's

my record was 418 miles to a tank out of a 4dr 325i auto once. My old c2 touring would always give 370-400 to a tank on a run

Looked after E30s give good mileage, poorly maintained ones don't. As simple as that.

When the Touring was used as a daily it did a fairly consistent 13litres per 100km, which is about 22mpg. On a blat (A roads at a decent 75mph) she'd go up to 28mpg, and I could eke out 350miles from a tank until the fuel light came on.

Yup - I've had 4 ( modest by the standards on this board ) all of which I had for 2 years or more

Never less than 300 miles on a tank no matter what driving conditions - and I don't hang about
As I get older I realize that you can't please everyone - pissing everybody off is however a piece of cake

I thought I was a hero for getting 18mpg - until I had the Blue Temp sensor changed and it went back to 24mpg overnight. I was just about to change the injectors when I realised it was time to frag it due to rust.

I got 39mpg from mixed driving from the last tank. Brim to brim rather than relying on the gauge. Was quite impressed with that

My M3 does between 140 miles if being driven like a hooligan and 310 if I'm doing a long run between 70mph and 100mph. I had a 2 year old e46 M3 smg cab that I drained in 85 miles once I was only 22 and thought I was the bees knees! winkeye

So what can someone do to improve mpg? what are the key areas to look at?

-regular maintenance, oil, spark plugs etc
-check tire pressure
-new engine coolant temp sensor
-leak free exhaust system
-good clean injectors

I get approx 350 miles per tank from my 320i but it only tends to be used on long'ish trips. I got 400 miles from a tank driving up to Scotland last year.
